Youth Advocate Programs
About the Business
Youth Advocate Programs is a high-impact social justice nonprofit located at 516 Bradley Street, Watertown, New York, United States. We provide community-based alternatives to youth incarceration, congregate placements, and neighborhood violence. Our mission is to promote divesting in facilities and investing in communities to create continuums of care capable of providing exactly what each person needs. Through our YAPWrap model, we offer intensive support to young people, adults, and their families right where they live, learn, work, and play.
Our research confirms that YAP is making a positive difference in the lives of young people, families, and the systems that support them. Our blog features stories about families, advocates, and program practitioners who are at the forefront of the youth justice, child welfare, and social services systems reform movement.
Youth Advocate Programs are the county's greatest asset for redirecting and changing the lives of juveniles and their families. Our family-focused approach ensures that we work with the entire family to create lasting change. We believe that change is possible for all individuals, especially those who may have been overlooked by others.
YAP is committed to equal employment and program opportunities, creating a work environment that is free of discrimination and harassment. Our goal is to strengthen communities, one biography at a time. Contact us at 3899 N. Front Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or call 717.232.7580 to learn more about our programs and services.

Reviews
"I was a participant in this program when I was in high school. Their methods in assigning advocates to youth are questionable. My experience was degrading. I’m glad to have graduated out of the program. I contacted the branch months ago with residual comments and explaining my prior experience, and was replied to by the Director of Programs, Kristina Hillman-Shaw. She displayed interest in communicating further to go over my concerns, and when I expressed my preferred method of contact (email), I was never contacted. Shady program. Shady people. 10/10 do not recommend."
"Doing the best to empower today's youth and family systems."
