"I went to this ER today with my 1 year old baby, I arrived at 5:30pm and wasn’t called until 10pm. The only reason why I was even called was because I went up to the receptionist and asked why I hadn’t been called yet, Sariah stated she had made a mistake and got rid of our file. She claimed that she thought we had left. At no point in time did we leave the waiting room area, I sat there and watched families get called that had arrived long after me. This is pure negligence on behalf of Sariah. When I complained they finally called me in immediately when they realized the mistake they made. That does not change the fact that my sick son and I sat in this emergency room for FIVE hours without any medical attention! This person needs to receive some type of disciplinary action as well as retraining to avoid this from happening to anyone else."
"In the emergency room Dec 22 with my 15 month old granddaughter for what her pediatrician suspected was an infection on her belly where her feeding tube went in. The attending doctor didn't think so, only examined her for 5 minutes and quickly prescribed an antibiotic without asking questions about her rare syndrome. This was about the 4th visit in the er and was admitted the other 3 times but because she never got the medical attention she needed she kept getting sick. A team of young residents without experience would treat her for her respiratory issues but did not understand her condition & never addressed them, it would be a different team every week. We never had a doctor with experience in charge to speak with, they never contacted Cincinnati children's hospital where there a specialists for this syndrome which i've asked them to do many times. My granddaughter died in my arms Dec. 23rd because of their negligence & inexperience in what her needs were. She deserved a team with more experience and understanding and worry less about protocol."
"Five stars all for Nurse Victoria in the emergency room. She was absolutely amazing. Thank you for everything that you do for our children. I watched her work non stop with patience and love, her entire shift, without even getting a lunch break, because of how busy it was. Angel on earth ❤️"
"Waited 2 hours in waiting area. They seem to call patients randomly. A lot of patients who just arrived were being seen before my daughter meanwhile I’ve been waiting for hours. Once they place you in a room, a doctor or nurse will walk in to check on you every 2-3 hours. It’s frustrating because you have to be there all day, just for doctor to attend to you for 5 minutes at a time. Would definitely not come back nor recommend."
"Definitely pros and cons here. My 5 month old had contacted RSV and was having difficulty breathing and our pediatrician recommended we take him here. Cohens is one of the best children’s hospitals but everyone knows that and sends kids there. We waited to be seen in the emergency for four hours which was brutal with a four month old, our pediatrician even ended up calling the hospital to make sure they understood the seriousness. The problem was he needed a room and they were all full. When we finally did get seen the doctors and nurses were great but you could tell they were very busy and we felt like they didn’t share a lot with us which of course we hated. It got to the point where we had to ask to see a doctor and tell them we need to know what their plan was and we felt out of the loop. They then told us they planned to admit him and with the treatment he needed we could be there for a few days (you’d think they would have made that clear earlier). It was another long wait to get him admitted because the unit he needed to go to also had no open rooms. However, once we got to the unit, again, the doctors and nurses were amazing. We spent three days there and they took great care of our baby and he is on the mend. So this really is the best place to receive medical care for your child but again everyone knows that and it seemed absolutely swamped with patients. If you plan to go here I would just recommend you understand you will wait a long time but you are waiting to see some of the best doctors and nurses. I’d give 5 stars to the doctors and nurses but much lower for the overall ER experience."
