"Kinzua Bridge State Park makes for a good day trip from Pittsburgh, especially if you leave early enough during a winter’s morning. And it’s well worth the time! I went on New Year’s Day and basically had the park to myself. The visitor center was closed but it looks well kept and clean. This park is good for mini-hikes, photography, quirky history buffs, lovers of dystopian environments, train nerds and civil engineers. The hike itself is not for everyone as it can be strenuous on the return uphill. But there are resting benches in strategic spots so you can rest and catch your wind. Apparently the park is also good for horse back riding because I happened to see three equestrians approach from the forest trail, take photos and leave. I spent roughly 3 hours here just to give an approximation for those who are keen on time."
"Had a great time. It is absolutely beautiful to walk out onto the bridge and look out over the valleys below. I'm here in late September and it is spectacular. A must see! The visitor center and park office are well worth the visit and especially if you have kids. There's a lot of interactive displays that I guarantee they will enjoy."
"First time visiting since the early 80's. I love how they kept the wreckage from the tornado that hit in 2003. It shows the power of nature even on such an imposing and magnificent railway viaduct. Wonderful views from the bridge. Museum in the visitor center explains the history and construction of what was at one time the largest railroad viaduct in the world. There is also a gift shop that has art and crafts from talented local artists amongst other products. Also, friendly and helpful staff."
"Very impressed with the visitor center and museum. The use of local artists to build the exhibits made it twice as interesting. The trail to the bottom isn’t for the weak of heart, literally. But worth the hike to view the bridge from the bottom. Bring water and be prepared to rest on the hike back up. If you bring your dog, please don’t take them on the lookout on hot sunny days. The trails welcome joggers, hikers, horses, bikes, and snowmobiles in winter."
