"Can't beat the fishing. Ample parking. No amenities. Long hike down/up stone stairs. Beautiful hike."
"Fun little hike with the kids. When I say little, give yourself at least 2 hours. There are a lot of steps! But it's so fun to hike with family. My youngest is 9, and she did great! My only complaint is not a lot of signs to tell you where to go. We parked on the far left of the parking lot so we went the wrong way initially. If you go to the far left there is a flat trail you can walk along. Park at the far right of the parking lot (right when you first pull in). The sign is on the right side of the lot. You walk right, and that's how you get down to devils hole. I think it's around 440 steps. Easy getting down, hard to get up. After you get to the bottom it may be like .25 mile to see Devils Hole which is a little cave on the left you climb up a few rocks to get in. There is a hole from the mountain where spring water comes down here. Bring bug spray in summer. Lots of mosquitoes."
"Nice escape from overcrowded local traditional tourist places like Niagara Falls State Park. Well maintained trails, nice view. There is a stone staircase leading down to the base of the gorge. There are good fishing spots down there as well."
"The signs are not very clear here, and no maps either. If you parked in Devil's Hole parking lot, the stairs to go down to the river is on the right when you're facing the river. You'll see a bathroom by the entrance of the stairs.(A water fountain on the upper level by the bathroom.) When you're at the bottom of the stairs, go left for 10 minutes you'll see a cave which is the Devil's Hole. (Tho there's no sign says it is.) If you go right, the trail is not easy and small, probably leading to the plant. After the Devil's Hole, you can keep going upstream for about 15 minutes, there's another stairs to go back to the bike trail, about 15 minutes walk to the parking lot."
"I loved hiking here with my 2 kids (ages 11, 13). The stairs down are no joke.. but doable! There is a trail that you can hike once you are at the bottom by the Niagara River. It normally goes all the way to Whirlpool SP, however there was a rock slide or something so it is blocked off now. Very cool sights and great experience."
