"I had to find a vet for my brother’s cat. My brother is 84 and has some dementia. His cat, Elad, had never been to a vet before and it was obvious he was not well. South Shore took Elad on without question. Elad was very sick and Dr. Kretow was wonderful with him. He was very compassionate, and took the time to explain everything and answer any questions we had. I really can’t thank him enough. Everyone there was wonderful. I would recommend this practice and Dr. Kretow in a heartbeat. We ended up losing Elad from cancer but he will be in our hearts always!"

"Let me start by saying I used to see Dr. Prosser and he was amazing. Dr. Anderson who currently works there is good too. The problem is, when you have an "emergency" visit you see whichever vet is available. 7 years ago I had a not pleasant experience with Dr. Ferguson when euthanizing my dog Louie at this same vet and the only reason I returned is because Dr. Anderson came highly recommended by multiple people. Last week my almost 3 year old dog started itching and itching horribly. I wanted to get him seen to figure out the root of the problem. I called and they scheduled me same day. That was great! Problem is, my path then crossed again with Dr. Ferguson. I show up, walk in with him and I am not even greeted at the door by 2 receptionist at the front. Mind you, I am the ONLY customer in there. A simple "Hello" would have been nice. I walk over, let them know I have my dog there and am seen not long after. The BARE minimum was done to get to the root of my dogs skin issue. A ear swab (even though I was certain his inner ear was fine) and a quick look over. No skin scrape, no indepth look at his overall skin, no real questions about food, lifestyle, nothing. They were more interested in recommending vaccines I did not want and other services instead of addressing the reason I am paying an emergency vet visit fee.... A few hundered dollars later I left with ear drops (which did nothing because it wasn't an inner ear problem) and a skin oil that also did nothing...Side note, check your receipt because a "PREP PAID" stool sample container was in my bag that we didn't even discuss. I call today to see about getting some other medications to help, which I was told I could do and I am then told I need to pay another sitting fee in order to get them. They care more about adding on whatever they can to drive your bill through the roof rather than helping your animal. If after you read this you still decide to go there. Make sure you see Dr. Anderson and only her... Such a shame..."

"They helped me in a time or need. A few days before Christmas my 9 year old dog needed an urgent hysterectomy. They were able to preform the procedure and get her situated within 24 hours. The doctors and nurses were all really nice and understanding. I will definitely be going back. She is now happy and healthy because of them"
