"I would give zero star if I can. The office staff are nice and friendly. However, Dr Shim wasn't pretty unprofessional. I called to check if she performs the surgical procedure before scheduling appointments. The office staff said she does, that's the whole reason I went to her . But she rejected my surgical request after I waited 30 mins and then just rushed on my pap and breast checkup. This is the first time i feel pain and saw blood after doing pap. Also, they didn't even check the basics like weight and height. Long waiting hour and super rush checkup. She didn't really listen to my requests and just rudely pushed her opinions and thoughts on me. I was disappointed and would not recommend her"

"Dr. Shim delivered my first child. I was really anxious but she made me feel comfortable and that I was in good hands. She is very professional and a great doctor overall! She has good bedside manners and great personality. I definitely recommend her! Thank you for bringing my sweet boy in this world and for just being such an amazing doctor. :)"

"Dr.Shim is a wonderful doctor- all best about her and i will / do recommend her to everyone I know. She delivered my baby boy. As of the office itself, I had good experience as well. Yes I had to wait sometimes but the office is busy. We need to know that doctors have to spend certain amount of time with each patient and not everyone's health condition/concerns and care are the same. Also I haven't had hard time with scheduling my appointments."

"This review is only for the Whitestone office. Dr shim is an amazing physician. As for her front office staff, I can’t say the same. They never call to confirm appointments and cancel without giving notice. This is the third time this happens to me. I went in to the office for a follow up appointment only to be told she was out. Which is fine. I understand but I was not called or left a voicemail as the front desk stated. When I asked if there was another dr I could see, they told me no. With an attitude. I underwent a procedure a few weeks ago and instead of being compassionate, the woman was irritated by my question. I was told I could do a telehealth or call her other office. While I did appreciate her efforts, she could’ve been more understanding and kinder given the circumstances.The woman at the kew gardens office, Maria, was so kind. I started crying as I’m still very emotional and she eased my concerns. If you are thinking about seeing Dr Shim, go to her kew gardens office. NOT Whitestone."

"I will definitely recommend Dr. Shim to any friend who is looking for an OB/GYN. I was transferred to Dr. Shim when I was 32 week pregnant, and she was exceptional with me and the delivery of my baby boy! She was very patient, detailed and gentle when it comes to explaining everything from labor signs to birth plan to a first-time mom. During the night I went into labor, she was there and made me feel safer and more confident about delivering my baby. Highly recommend."
