"Don’t go here if you want quality care. They love giving people the run around and treating them horribly. I’ve had to go back 4 times to see Dr. Berry to talk about permanent birth control. They constantly have tried to get me to change my mind. The nurses and staff are so rude to anyone that isn’t pregnant. Save yourself the grief and go somewhere else."
"I had been going here since April of 2007. However, my recent experience here has made me decide to go elsewhere for my preventative GYN care. At my annual exam back in May, I brought up some symptoms that had me concerned. The provider had me undergo an ultrasound. I went in, and found out I had a large cyst on my left ovary. I thought it was urgent. Nope! Even though I had to have a CA-125 blood test the same day that I had my ultrasound done. There was no communication for about 2 and 1/2 weeks about what the treatment was or how they'd take care of my cyst. I was supposed to meet with Marlaina a week and a half after the ultrasound to go over the results. However, 4 days after the ultrasound, I got a phone call saying that Dr. Berry wanted to see me sooner in the Syracuse office. Of course, that set off panic bells in my head. Right before I get to the Syracuse office, I got a phone call saying that Dr. Berry was at the hospital with an emergency delivery. Ok. I understand those things happen. However, that's no excuse for the lack of communication. Especially with what was happening to me. Multiple messages using my patient portal and phone calls went unanswered. I really wish Dr. Berry would've just called and said she was communicating with other doctors. I had surgery in June to try and remove not only the cyst, but my left ovary and fallopian tube. Unfortunately for me, the surgery was a bust. I also didn't like how the receptionists were super snotty and tried to blame me for their mistakes. I also didn't like the phlebotomist who took my blood at the Liverpool office. Another thing that I found irritating: trying to schedule my yearly exams. Edited to add: I had robotic surgery on August 23. By that time, the cyst had grown from 10 centimeters to 12 centimeters. I ended up having a robotic hysterectomy and everything but my right ovary was removed. At times, I waited in the waiting room past my scheduled appointment time. I found that irritating and I feel like if I had been the one who was late, I would've been in trouble. I also didn't like how it took so long for the provider to come into the exam room. I hope nobody else has to go through this. I also didn't care for the NP, Terry. She was super rude and snotty to me. She has no bedside manner and I really felt like she was judging me because I take anti-depressants. When I went for my yearly exam in December of 2020, I had a very unfriendly triage nurse. She said my blood pressure was high and said to me in a snotty tone of voice "Oh, you're all bundled up." Yes, because it was a cold December morning for crying out loud! I also said the reason for my high blood pressure was due to the fact that I was nervous about my appointment. She said "no need". Not helpful! I also mentioned some concerning symptoms that I had been experiencing a few times, but I was blown off. Another thing that's irritating to me: I used my patient portal twice asking for help in sending my records to my new practice. I have yet to get a response. Not cool and incredibly rude. I really hope I'm wrong about this, but I feel like before they came into the room to do my exam, I could hear them talking smack about me."
"I’ve had really positive experiences with this office. I transferred in at 36 weeks pregnant after having a terrible experience at a different provider, and despite my high risk pregnancy I was accepted and given an appointment quickly to get the proper care I needed. The office is smaller than a lot of big Syracuse providers and as a result your care feels more customized and gentle. I felt genuinely listened to and cared for. I really feel like their team truly cares about women and mothers feeling empowered with their bodies. Janet delivered my baby and was such an amazing coach throughout, resulting in minor tears and a super fast postpartum recovery. I’ve leaned on this office for a lot of support after the birth and I’ve felt my needs taken seriously every time. Thank you to the front desk, nurses, midwives, and OBs at this office!"
"Due to a network change with my insurance I sought out a new provider for my pregnancy. I saw some good reviews, so I decided to give this office a shot. I was seen a few times in the Liverpool office, and every single visit was a mess. I would wait 30+ minutes beyond my appointment time. Lab orders were lost. Providers wouldn’t update notes in my chart on time, and when I would call to ask a question I would get the run around and wait days for a response. I switched to another practice, but I hope for the sake of current patients- this office gets it together. I was disappointed."
"I've been going here for 3 or so years now and I've never had any problems. They were so helpful with my first pregnancy and when I had to have a last minute c section, they made me feel at ease and my aftercare was great at the office. They found that I had a clump of abnormal cells in my uterus when I was pregnant and were very quick to get me treatment and answers after the baby. I am now pregnant with my 2nd baby and am still attending this office. They have been great in my experience! Edit: I've ve been going to the pine street office"
