Reviews
"As the parent of two students at BUGS we have had an excellent experience. My children both feel respected and engaged by their teachers. They are able to explore their own interests while being challenged academically. I recommend BUGS as a great middle school for any student interested in the sustainability mission."
"My son, now in 8th grade, has had an amazing experience at BUGS. He is doing exceptionally well, and is taking both the Algebra 1 and Living Environment Regents classes this year. He is happy and confident at school and has made so many friends. The students are very supportive of each other and you can see the special camaraderie they share, which I think has a lot to do with the advisory classes they have four times a week. My son loves his teachers, who are all very supportive and engaging. Most importantly, the administration and the faculty place a high priority on the social and emotional growth of their students. Parents are welcome in the school at any time and during “open classrooms” I have been very impressed with the teachers and the subjects. Over all, BUGS is a friendly, tight-knit community with friendly students and talented teachers. I am truly happy that my son goes to BUGS and I couldn’t have asked for a better, more well-rounded experience for him."
"this school has become very very horrible !! They have a teacher who likes to bring students down. She brings up things that my child has done in the past year but there's a thing called IMPROVEMENT. I've heard from my child's friend that this teacher talks behind a students back to other students! That is just outrageous you shouldn't be sharing any students progress with other students"
"The best teachers have left sadly but this school do prepare kids for High School especially if your child is selected into the Advanced classes which you take the regents in 8th grade. Only thing is that they fail to communicate with the high school that need the transcripts so in my experience i missed out on 2 months worth of Geometry and Earth Science due to this school...."
"My son attended this school from 6th to 7th grade (6 month term). The 2nd year was a horrible experience. No communication from the teachers. Many parents and students are not happy with the lack of experience from all the new teachers that started this year. If the teachers are not good, how are they suppose to help the students achieve success. Please see reviews from others, they all mention the teachers. It took several emails, phone calls, and emails directly to the principal and it takes several days to get a response. My son transferred to another school in February and is much happier with the well structure at his current school."
