"Poor customer service. It took months to come out to the house. They did not fix the problem, then did not answer the phone. They pass me off to the warranty company who sent me back to Tarheel. I am not impressed."
"I was referred to Tarheel Appliance by Plaza Appliance to repair the ice maker on my Bosch refrigerator. Tarheel advised me that parts were needed and I would need to pay for the parts up front. When the parts became available Tarheel advised me and set up a repair date. Tarheel repaired the ice maker and advised me that one of the parts was not necessary and that they would refund the cost of the part. They refunded me the full amount of the unnecessary part in about 10 days. I commend them for this as they could have kept the part and used it for another repair job and I would never have known. Kudos to Tarheel for their honesty."
"*** update 6/6/2023 *** The parts finally came in (not Tarheel's fault) and the Tarheel techs came by right on time as promised and fixed the appliance. They were polite and prompt. Going forward my advice for Tarheel is to be more open with your clients in setting repair expectations with respect to timing. More so with manufacturers coming from Europe (Bosch, Akso, etc). *** original post *** Our dishwasher's on/off switch broke but, via unplugging and plugging the dishwasher back in, we were able to get a wash cycle and normal operation. We engaged Tarheel Appliance to repair the faulty on/off switch beginning on January 25th, 2023. The tech came out to review the problem, collect the fee and order parts. In the process of doing so the tech made the dishwasher entirely inoperable which, given the estimated timeline, was fine in the short-term. The next visit from Tarheel was on March 10th, 2023 of which a different tech came out and, within 15 minutes, communicated to us that Tarheel had ordered the incorrect part. As of today, May 3rd, 2023, I had to dial their office non-stop to simply get them to answer the phone. Our appliance is not repaired and Tarheel is unable to provide an estimate of when it will be fixed. If Tarheel had simply kept us updated on parts or lack of technicians or... anything, I probably wouldn't be leaving a one star review. The complete lack of communication and service is highly unprofessional. If you need service for your appliances I highly suggest you go elsewhere."
"I have the same issue as many others in this review thread. Tar Heel was referred to me by the company that warranties my Bosch refrigerator. Tar Heel was quick to come to the house and determine that the refrigerator needs three new parts, but claimed they were back ordered. It has now been over five weeks and I have left at least five voicemails with Tar Heel, and not once have I received a returned call. Twice I’ve gotten a text five days after a call with an irrelevant, terse response. In the meantime, I have been dealing with a non functioning refrigerator for over five weeks thanks to Tar Heel."
"Used company twice and repairs were done well but process of lining up repair service was very slow. Poor communication and when diagnosis was made we were told the parts would be covered under warranty. We waited 2 months for parts to arrive ( not company’s fault) but when the repair was actually done and we got the bill we were charged for parts and labor. We called company to inquire and we’re told they were “sorry” and the parts were not covered by warranty and that this complaint would be reported to the repairman involved regarding his false promises. For the money we spent on this total bill we could have almost purchased a brand new microwave and we would have went this route had we known. Overall poor communication and false promises. We will use another company next time. Poor way to conduct business."
