Reviews
"Flamenco show was amazing. But, the policies are terrible at this theater. They kept letting people in late. Not 10 minutes. Not 15 minutes. Not even 20 minutes! Over 45 minutes to an hour, not in an intermission, they still let people in. It was ridiculous and distracting. It was a dark room, and the light kept coming in from the door opening each time. Very distracting, too, for the performers. Then the people coming in were noisy. OH, and they kept the bar going during the performance. Was really not great for the performers either. I felt bad for them. Why has everything gotten so nonchalant? There really need to be some better ground rules for late attendance and such. Sent comments after the show to Blumenthal as they asked for a review via email. Of course, I didn't hear anything back. What a shame."
"Such a cool, intimate space with killer lighting and sound. They also cater to a wide variety of art; we come here for improv and comedy festivals and the jazz room performance series (which might be the best kept secret in Charlotte - come to a show!!)"
"The staff here are terrible people. I was at a comedy show and cheering on the comedians. You know, positive support for people. A person in the crowed asked me to be quiet and I thought she was a member of the crowd. She was a staff and failed to identify herself. She then asked security to remove me for... yes being a positive member and encouraging comedians. Don't go here until the staff is fired and replaced with people who can actually do their job."
"Tribute to New Orleans from The Clarinet Road brought me back home! Lagniappe piece with Dan on banjo & singing Creole French was much appreciated."
"What a wonderful location. Prime attention to detail and lovely staff! Had the pleasure of viewing the Emmet Cohen Trio brought to hs by Jazzarts Charlotte and could not be more pleased with the experience. Please do yourself a favor and go check out a show soon, you won't be disappointed."
