Reviews
"Very kind hosts, even when one of our party members was a bit late. Very attentive and delectable food on top of that. The chefs were very eager to answer any questions about the food. 10/10 experience!"
"Small omakase shop with excellent quality fish and peaceful atmosphere. The restaurant is chinese/japanese owned and the chefs are not classically trained in sushi making but they get the job done very well learning from online resources. The real star of the show is the quality of the fish. Best sushi ive had in nyc so far. Will need to try shinn east next. Definitely best option for less than $70 omakase."
"Highly enjoyed my experience at the omakase room. The service was well-run and highly attentive to the requests of its patrons. The chefs did a great job conveying the flavors of each piece. I had the 12 piece course and an add-on piece at the end"
"Shiki seats only 12 at a time and Omakasa is the only thing they served, reservation is required. We got the $100 version and considering we just went to a different restaurant for a $69 Omakasa which includes dessert, this place all of a sudden just got a bit disappointed. The sushi rice was way too strong with rice vinegar and just a bit too packed. The sushi is all fresh but I compared to what I had last night I don't understand why this place is more expensive. Also the whole experience felt very rush, one seating every hour. The best Omakasa we had was where we were chatting with the chef and discussing the different types of uni, where they came from and how they taste different. Anyway, is not bad overall but between NJ and NYC there are plenty of inexpensive Omakasa so this is not top of my list."
"I have to say Shiki Omakase really has the gift & talent. They know how to prepare & serve some of the best sushi ever. The service & hospitality alone was a win for me, even down to how they explain what they're giving you. Truly a great experience."
