"I've been seeing Chris Pennibaker for more than 20yrs, and have been with him as he's moved from 2 different places. As of late, He's always late on calling up to an hour past the appointment scheduled. Obviously he doesn't care about the patients but the Almighty Dollar!! On our last appointment he said his phone was dying and hung up without even calling me back. He could have used a different phone. When I was in crisis and wanting to die he tells me that I need to grow up!!! Who does that to a mental health patient with problems. What a Disappointment. I think he needs to go back to school and relearn how to treat his patients. Needless to say I will be seeing someone else who may actually be able to help me. I definitely do not recommend seeing him."

"Not Impressed! I understand emergencies and case loads can be hectic especially during the pandemic but as a professional with years of experience Dr. Pennebaker should know how to juggle his schedule to benefit himself and his patients. I don't do reviews but I'm disgusted that a professional would allow a young child who needs follow up care from being hospitalized in a mental health facility to go unseen and then fail to call and let the parent know he can't provide service/see the child after the child and parent have waited 3.5+ hours after the original scheduled appointment."

"Me and both my teenagers have seen Chris Penebaker and have followed him to 2 new practices and then to his own where he is now, have had over 5 years under his care. He never made me or my children feel like we didn’t matter, it was the opposite he showed us a side of a psychiatrist we didn’t know it excited, the caring side, the never pushing medications you didn’t need, the I’m always here if you need me for anything, and most of all he showed my kids that they could trust him, and he gained their trust and both my kids were able to open up to him, he gained my trust as well, when he didn’t push medications like previous providers had in the past, and actually listened to symptoms and we found out together I had a vitamin D deficiency that needed to be addressed, rather then switch me to a new medication he went with his instinct and order bloodwork. I am writing this review, because I honestly miss the level of care I was receiving, I have been struggling to find a psychiatrist since May, every one I have been referred to by my doctor hasn’t returned my calls, their intake coordinators never return calls or emails, I picked up new patient paperwork and filled it out and dropped it off and I am still waiting for a phone call 6 weeks later. Yes the wait times to see Penebaker were sometimes longer then expected, appointment times weren’t always what I needed after school, but I would rather deal with that any day of the week then with the stuff I’m dealing with now since I moved. If you are reading this Chris, know that me and Chris and Lilly miss you dearly and we never just saw you just as our psychiatrist but we saw you as a friend as well. Your level of commitment to patient care went well beyond my expectations and you have set a very high bar, and you have thought me not be silent I will advocate for my mental health, and if the next provider doesn’t meet my Penebaker expectations then I will find someone who will, and I won’t stop till I do. You thought me not to settle. Thank you for all that you have done for us!"

"My son has been seeing Mr. Pennebaker for a little over a year. He has taken the time to get to know my son, has guided him as well as treat him. He has taken the time out of his own busy schedule to call when there has been the need- to include weekends and when he himself has been out of town. My son is growing into a successful adult and much of that has to do with the care he has received from Mr. Pennabaker."
