"Unassuming but spacious food hall. Cozy Rice had steamed rice rolls that I wasnt used to seeing in its area so gave it a try. They do it REALLY well, the portions and filling are generous and its made to order. You can really taste how fresh everything is (something thats not very common with this kind of food), and the rice rolls here were the perfect texture imo. Even better than some dim sum places I’ve been to. Also what I assume were a cute couple working the store together, were very polite and friendly. Definitely give this place a try for a casual bite"

"Came in Sunday evening after walking around all day with friends, and honestly I am surprised at the quality and price of the rolls especially in NYC. The kitchen can be seen when you order and it looks very clean and well-kempt; the rolls are made fresh in front of you and the beef filling actually is real minced beef (some places give you the weird minced beef meatball-like stuff if you know what I'm talking about). I also got a pumpkin congee and it tasted fresh and was very nice and comforting."

"Wanted something soft like congee, stumbled across this during the search. Got the combo for lunch Churn fun and congee were pretty good. Located in the food hall with other Asian stores to check out. There are seating upstairs and was not crowded. Will definitely be back."

"We were searching for Hong Kong style cafe in New York, and came across this one that does specialty 'Cheung Funs' which is Steamed Rice Rolls. They have many types (shrimp, pork, beef, vegetarian), but we opted in for beef brisket. We also tried their Chinese Crepe (I would not recommend this). The Rice Roll is definitely the highlight of this place as they make it completely fresh, using a different system than traditional methods. They put rice roll onto a flat steel pan, and then they steam it to make it extremely texturized and also thin. It's probably one of the best rice rolls I've had in my life. Would come back."

"It's hard to find these freshly made rice roll places even in Brooklyn these days, where they can be sheeted and steamed before your eyes before being rolled up with toppings and sauce. I certainly did not expect to find one in Manhattan. I'm glad it is here, and it gets the job done for filling that niche of food. They are based in the rather empty food hall across from the sushi place. There's seating upstairs, making it very convenient. The cook can be seen making your food behind the counter. They don't use the traditional flattop with a pan and lid to steam. They instead have a giant box machine that takes the sheet filled with rice substance and toppings and steams it layer by layer before being rolled and cut by hand. It's fun to watch. The rolls themselves are very tender because they are so fresh and hot. I personally prefer them to be springy and chewier, but these were very good anyway. The toppings they offer are varieties of meat mostly, and they are only meant to be small bits of flavor to go with the rice roll. I got the pork and beef rolls, and they were nice and well cooked. The price is obviously higher than I remember from places that used to sell these in the street, but it is not too ridiculous, and the portion size was a little surprising given how big it was."
