"When Dr. Kwee worked at University of Pediatrics, we did not have a good visit. I brought my two young kids in for a yearly visit. Here are some of the details. His sense of humor was off. My kids were too young to get his dark humor. Like looking in their ears with the light and saying "see you do have a brain." He also kept referring to my kids hair texture and "thick ethnic" hair as if he just learned this from a medical book on serving AA children. He even said my daughter had "thick ethnic" nose hair. WTH. Kept referring to their skin as "ashy," and that it was "ashier" than his. Mind you, I'm an AA mother and I lotion my kids down and made sure my kids hair was groomed exceptionally. But Dr. Kwee did not see the grooming, he saw the race. HE even said, before we left the appointment "I hope I didn't offend anyone." When I picked my kids up later that day from school, they immediately said, "that guy was weird from this morning." So this visit with Dr. Kwee stayed with them the whole day of learning and playing. I did call back to the office and spoke to the admin and the higher ups. We never scheduled with him again, we scheduled with Dr. Pickett from that point on. Hopefully, Dr. Kwee has sharpened his people skills and dealing with patients. Dial back his dark humor, or eliminate it, we were there for a checkup not a clown show."

"Dr Kwee is an absolute gem of a pediatrician. We've been going to him since our first child was born nearly 5 years ago. He is so engaging and thorough when it comes to the appointments and is very responsive on MyChart if you have concerns. Even after moving 20+ minutes away from the office we still take the kiddos to see Dr Kwee."

"Dr. Kwee was clearly meant to be a pediatrician. He takes his time to complete a thorough examination all while playing silly games or voices with our child to keep her calm and interested. I also appreciate that he actually explains things to us and takes time to listen to our concerns and answer questions without being dismissive or brush us off as something to not worry about. I completely agree with the previous comments about his amazing bedside manner and have been completely happy with our experience at UNC Southpoint Pediatrics!"

"I love him! He is very thorough and makes sure to investigate all concerns. He also has really great communication with my kid who is young and visiting the doctor can be scary. He has been my son's doctor since he was born, and will continue to be as long as he's working. HE'S THE BEST!"

"My wife and I highly recommend Dr. Kwee: he is a highly skilled pediatrician and a most humble man. He was able to accurately diagnose the arterial septal defect in my son's heart just by listening to my son's heartbeat and referred us to an appropriate cardiologist. His ability for early detection helped us pave the way for proper treatment for my son. I would give him more than five stars if that was possible!
