"Awww, man love this place. The Tamal (Verde) that I have tried. So good, that is what keeps me coming back, and the hospitality of Jose. He makes me feel so welcome and relaxed. This place is a small little spot on a quiet street, so you might miss it if your not paying attention. I definitely recommend you go to them they also have another location on 4th street, between 3rd & 2nd Avenue. Ohh, I forgot to mention that I also tried there Cuban sandwich. It's not the typical Cuban sandwich, but it is good. I am sorry that this time I didn't take any pictures."
"The Chipotle Chicken Tamale is good and spicy. The Bacon and Mozzarella Tamale was different but good."
"My parents, of Puebla México, wanted to try this as it appeared on a TV show, and since we are fans of tamales, we thought we give it a try. Overall, the location is somewhat difficult to find due to the low-key facade, and its crayon-type sign written on the gate. My parents bought about 3 of different flavors, the brown sauce called molé, green sauce, and rajas, which are spicy strips of red peppers. According to my mom, the amount of meat and ingredients are adequate for a tamales. The taste for me was acceptable. However, the $5 per tamal is too pricey for something that's considered common. As she put it, "el que no conoce a Dios, con San Pedro se conforma". In other words, this loosely translates to, "if you don't know what is the best of something, then you'll conform to something else.""
"Really wanted to try their tamale after seeing a clip of the owner describing the strenuous production process and his passion/reason for starting the business -- his grandmother and her recipes. We got there end of day so only got to get the chicken tamales. The mole and salsa Verde were both great. Tamales had a wonderful texture, not salty, and tasted like having homemade food. Looking forward to coming back to try the vegetarian options."
"Wow, look at these amazing tamales that look extremely wholesome and even better than the ones that I get in Los Angeles. I pick these up at a discount via the food for all app... how amazing is it to live New York City and eat this amazing food that is absolutely affordable, all the while helping rescue the environment. The staff are super friendly and the vibes in here very comforting."
