"Wow Wow Wow. Okay first of all, my mother is objectively an amazing cook, so I have a high standard for this type of cuisine. This unassuming spot is tucked in to the Zion Market, but the rich aromas of the kitchen fill the place as soon as you walk in. The chicken was fall off the bone tender and cooked just right, and the rice was perfect. I haven’t had an alcapurria in a LONG time and was not disappointed. Topped it all off with a nice cold Coco Rico and my week was made. Everyone is so friendly and chill! Don’t sleep on this place, it may not look fancy but this is some of the most flavorful and well made food you’ll find in the area. Thank you Debbie & Angie, your food feels like home! ♥️"

"Tried Mami’s place the Puerto Rican restaurant I saw on this community page yesterday and loved the food. It is inside the Zion convenience shop 410 Route 376. I got to meet the owner and master chef Debora Gonzalez and her son a John Jay grad and now university student. Loved the family and the food, I tried the Carne Guisada (beef stew), Chaletas Guisada (pork and green peppers), Pollo Guisada (chicken stew) with red and black beans all over rice. So tasty you have got to try it they are open Monday - Saturday 12 noon until 6 pm. I got there at 4:30 and they were already getting low on food and I think I came close to cleaning them out. ENJOY!!!"
