"Prices are ridiculous. I asked about several styles and some how all same amount.don’t have pictures of their work either like for weave and that’s something you would like to see before wasting money, It’s giving they make up a price randomly. . Spent 20 mins asking the owner can she do what I asked she said could … instead just being honest then she didn’t do the correct hairstyle and still charged me the same price and said next time she would do what I asked and had the attitude with me like I was the wrong one. Stand over you until you pay them which is rude."
"Lovely staff and fair prices. Just moved to Staten and have been trying to find my braid salon, and the question is settled. The vibe was so good here and my hair came out beautiful. I paid 200 for my braids + a tip ofc! And couldnt be happier. I know i wouldve paid closer to 300 somewhere else and not have enjoyed the pple nearly as much"
"Got an attitude when I didn't want to blow dry ( she picked the blow dryer off the floor ) my hair for box braids then did it by braids bigger than I wanted & I showed her the picture. Also the braids will not be one size."
"Went to get my hair braided and provided a photo. It was a simple style (Large box braids shoulder length) she literally braided the hair to my scalp. It looked nothing like the picture I provided. Everyone had their masks pulled down to their chin, the place was crowded (with some patrons not wearing masks at all). I plan on traveling to my old neighborhood back in Harlem for my braids in the future."
"I asked for a specific style, which I showed to the stylist a day before. She assured me she could give me that style. I brought my own hair. I washed my hair prior to coming. I was ready. When she saw my hair, she told me it was too thick and I needed to blow dry it. So I began to do so. After a few minutes she told me don't worry she'll be able to manage. Well... all I kept hearing was "omg your hair is killing me! It's too thick. Are you African?" I'm looking at her crazy because why does my place of origin have any relevance?! So as she's complaining she's braiding.. badly. The style required hair to be added. She must have used two strands for the feed in because when she finally finished I still had a whole pack of hair! It was crooked. It was not what I asked for! I was so mad that she wasted my time."
