"If you walk your dog daily... which you should ...read this review! I believe Lincoln and Balanced Paws Trainers just saved my two precious fur babies from what could and would have been a canine trip to the ER. I'm still shaking as I write this review, but the techniques for advocating for my dogs that Lincoln and the Balanced Paws Team taught me during Obedience 1 Training along with the confidence I now have (that I didn't before) as pack leader just saved us from a neighbor's dog attacking or biting both of my dogs while we were on a pack walk in the rain. We were walking in front of a neighbor's house when the door opened and suddenly their sweet pet came running out full speed all the way to the road we were walking on: aggressive body language and teeth snarling. Owners no where in sight. My dogs both went into protective mode, but I QUICKLY put my body in front of the other dog and between their dog and mine. I yelled "BACK" and while the dog did back away slightly while snarling he/she still proceeded to come at us about 3 more times. My calm confidence to protect my pack was automatic. This dog was about 4 inches from both of my dogs. I had to get in front of my 80 pound dog and my 18 pound dog simultaneously while continuously yelling "BACK" as their dog was in attack mode. When I got back to my house I was still shaking, and all I could think was thank God that Lincoln, Megan and Laurie taught me how to handle that situation "if" it ever happened because it did. When I knocked on the neighbor's door to let them know that a potential visit to the ER was averted today, the neighbor said that the dog actually wouldn't do anything. It just illustrates once again how owners don't realize that our pets are animal first, dog second, and fur baby third. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Lincoln and Balanced Paws! YOU SAVED ALL THREE OF US TODAY. I am grateful beyond measure and beyond words."
"I adopted a 2 year old old dog that had never been on a leash or potty trained. They gave me the tools to connect with my dog and help her understand what I wanted her to do. They helped me to get her to want to listen to me and walk on a leash like an angel. They taught me how to get her to settle down set boundaries. An amazing course for all dog owners to help them understand their dogs."
"Lincoln and his staff are the best. This is the best training that I have ever attended and we had 4 other dogs. Boot camp has done wonders for my hyperreactive 2 yo Klee Kai. He was terrible on walks when he saw other dogs. The group walk in Bootcamp has been very effective in helping him with his anxiety around other dogs. He has also really improved with recall. Balanced Paws is a great training facility. We are very lucky to have Lincoln and his wonderful team."
"I found Balanced Paws after my lab had been to multiple trainings without any improvement. I rescued my lab at 4 months old with signs of aggression towards people and other dogs (showing of teeth, growling, lunging and barking). To be honest, I brought her to Balanced Paws assuming nothing would change, but I wanted to say that I tried everything I could. We enrolled in their 5 week basic obedience class and the training was amazing. They take the time to understand you and your dog so they can develop the best training methods for you to succeed. I enjoyed the fact that other dogs were in the class, because it gave my dog the opportunity to be exposed to other dogs in a controlled environment. My dog was already fairly well trained in basic obedience, however I just wanted to focus on her reactivity to people and dogs. Lincoln and Megan really understand dog psychology and they changed the way that I viewed my dogs aggression. They showed me that she is actually a really sweet dog, but that this world is a scary place for her, so we have to help her through these fears. I have to advocate for my dog. This outlook helped me become more patient and understanding with her. After the class we still struggled with reactivity, which was mostly my fault because I wasn't committed to following through with all of the recommendations I received in the class. I set up a private session with Megan and Lincoln to practice walking by dogs at the park because this was a massive pain point for us. By the end of the session, they had her walking by other dogs without any reaction. I have continued to follow their instruction and we are successfully walking past other dogs without showing any teeth, barking, or growling. In the past, going on a walk gave me so much anxiety and I didn't enjoy it. Now, I welcome the opportunity because I can see my dogs confidence and trust in me increasing. I cant say enough good things about this place. They know what they are talking about and if you just dig in to the advice they are giving and continue to work with your dog, you and your pup will be on the path to living the best life together. Thank you Lincoln and Megan for working with us and believing in us!!"
"Great team, Great trainers. People who care about the dog, the people and the relationship between them. Extremely empathetic and wonderful at coaching BOTH the dog and owners. Was not my first k9 class but certainly the best I’ve ever experienced."
