"Dr. Thorp has done everything in his power to help me. I am so very grateful for Dr. Thorp, Im so happy it took my insurance. He put in my Cerclage via transvaginal. I love him forever!"
"Saying he is great, is a understatement, he is a pure blessing from GOD , if it wasn't for this man, my baby boy wouldn't be here today, thank you Dr. Thorp for everything you have done, for me & my baby boy ... You deserve Dr. Of the year ..."
"Over time, I’ve grown to be distrustful of typical medical practitioners as a whole. So it had to take a recommendation from a renowned neonatal physician for me to want to see an obgyn over a midwife for our third child. The obgyn he recommended was the very knowledgeable, caring, and yes, FUNNY... Dr Thorp from UNC (I also saw him at Reply Obgyn) Although Dr Thorp treated me throughout my prenatal and postnatal period, my baby ended up coming a week early for the actual delivery (to my horror, since Thorp was away!!) Imagine having to face d-day with a doctor you don’t know! Well, I had a c-section but when my incision didn’t heal as expected, I was asked by the nurse to come to triage 10 days later for an inspection. When other doctors were running around trying to figure things out with my drainage, I silently panicked - wondering if I would have to go back to surgery. Then in what seemed like a miracle, I was told that Dr Thorp was the chief Obgyn on duty that day and he was called in by two other doctors. Thorp appeared confident when he took one look at my incision and put all the craziness to rest; while schooling the other doctors so effortlessly about what was happening with my healing process. Long story short - Everything healed like he said it would and here we are... baby and I are well. Dr Thorp single handedly helped restore some of my faith in medicine through his charismatic nature and experience. Now I’m approaching what might be my last post natal appointment with him and it’s bittersweet. Sweet because I know he’s been a gem but sad because I know I can’t have him as my primary doctor. Dr Thorp knows his stuff - you can’t make up this sort of knowledge and experience. It comes natural to him. He has served us well and it’s time for him to be a blessing to other expecting moms. Now it’s my turn to recommend this wonderful man to an expectant mom who might need some reassurance."
"Could not ask for a better doctor hands down he is a miracle worker!!"
"Yes I am a man, so this is based off my wife's experience and her testimony. Yes Dr. Thorp is very Frank and just lay's it out for good or bad. so if you're looking for someone who's going to give you participation trophy for sure not this guy. But when shoes hits the fan you're absolutely want this guy in your side as he is by far the best. When your delivering a baby and something goes wrong do you want the 4.0 Val Victorian who is all about being the best or the 3.0 student who is pleasant and warm. I personally think a new babies life is worth more then feeling but I am a guy so... What do I really know about delivering a baby. But Dr. Thorpe is beyond knowledgeable but also very sympathetic and caring to his patients you just need to ask and he will let you in. In all reality his only weakness is his delivery of compassion, but he does really care and shows it in his work. We have three kids and by far the best experience with him and UNC."
