"This hospital ain't it. Half of the nurses seems to only be here for their paychecks. My daughter is currently on the PICU floor due to her condition. I've had certain nurses who understand and are compassionate about what they do and actually care about their patients while others are just sitting around at the desk talking and yapping about other things or glued to their phones. My wife and I only feel comfortable with certain nurses and sometimes get a HUGE relief when we know that our nurse will do a good job and we wont have to worry. Its so bad that some nurses let our daughter desat for at least 10 - 15mins and then they bump the oxygen up as a solution to everything but sometimes it is. If anyone else is deciding to come here please turn your back on this hospital and go to the Duke."

"oh my GOD. beautiful location for an even better complex. staff is amazing: engaging, transparent, incredibly kind, and thorough. i had an incredible experience today with mrs. duffus: one of the sweetest doctors i’ve met to date, is so concise and clear with her practice, and explains everything in a tactful, thoughtful, engaging and easy to digest way. like, visually explaining!? why has no one ever done this for me before? brilliant service. was inside and out in about an hour and a half for a consult, and i was so fascinated by the atmosphere: call me crazy, i could stay there for hours talking to everyone and exploring the complex. PLEASE go here, it is such a delight."

"It is not possible to overstate how truly AMAZING Dr. Jalazo is. She is by far the most caring and compassionate doctor we have ever seen. She spent so much time with us, fully explaining everything about our son's situation and filled us with information and hope. It took us a bit of time to get the appointment (thanks to the insurance company- not UNC) but Dr. Jalazo is worth every second of the wait. She's the best!!"

"I honestly don't know how they could have done any better. Every. Single. Person. From the info desk, to the receptionist, to the intake nurse, to the anesthesiologist, to the nurses, to Dr. Wood (all hail!) All this while undergoing a massive construction project in building the new surgical tower, meaning many locations had changed, also it was my first time there personally. One kind woman even approached me, recognized I was looking for something and seemed lost, and pointed me to the pharmacy to pick up my child's medication. They took care of my 6 y/o better than I could have ever imagined. The genuine kindness and compassion was impressive in all departments I interfaced with today (it helps to approach with a good attitude and kindness yourself, pro tip.) Kudos to you, UNC Hospital Staff. You exceeded my expectations with grace and sincerity. Outstanding job!"
