"I started having a sudden onset of abdominal pain and cramping along with excess hair growth, irregular periods, etc. I brought up that my mom has pcos, and she immediately cut me off with, verbatim, “No, you have regular periods, women with pcos don’t have regular periods”, right after I got done telling her about my incredibly heavy periods and occasional cramping so severe I’ve thought my appendix had burst?? She then asked if I wanted a pelvic exam with a shrug like it was a waste but she’d do it anyway. I agreed and she didn’t tell me when I could expect to be literally penetrated, and then started feeling around and saw me wincing in pain. She said “here?” and I nodded, then said “Yeah, that’s your uterus. It’s very normal and common to have pain. Sometimes your uterus just gets mad. It can happen with age” (I am 24). I’ve never heard of a mad uterus. She then told me there is nothing that can be done for this almost constant pelvic pain. She also said I could just “have a little endometriosis”, without checking anything at all. I don’t think endometriosis can be felt through the vaginal walls? and what is a small amount of endometriosis? This was genuinely the weirdest and worst doctors appointment I’ve ever had. I understand being busy but my god send me to another doctor then instead of gaslighting me."

She answered all of my questions and addressed all of my concerns. I would highly recommend her . The staff was wonderful as well..(I went to the Davidson office). I am new to the area and had been with my previous GYN for 25 years so I was concerned I wouldn't be able to feel as comfortable with a new doctor but what a pleasant surprise Dr. Croce was!! I can't say enough good things about her."
