"All the doctors are great but Dr. Frye is AMAZING! She is so kind and caring and her voice alone is so calming. She delivered my son and I’ve continued seeing her postpartum. Love her!!"
"I came to Lake Norman OBGYN about a year ago after trying for many years to find an OBGYN I trusted. Dr. Wellbaum did my first yearly physical and she was absolutely wonderful. About a month later, I found out I was pregnant with my first child. My first appointment I was absolutely terrified because of how much can go wrong in pregnancy. I went to see Dr. Miller and I mainly saw him throughout my pregnancy. He was a blessing. He was always so kind, extremely knowledgeable and did an amazing job helping me understand any questions I had. I cannot say enough amazing things about him. I saw Dr. Wilson for an appointment and he was great as well! Very friendly, personable and explains any questions you may have. Dr. Frye delivered our baby and we adore her. She was so incredibly sharp and positive during delivery. Overall I had the best experience as a first time mom with Lake Norman OBGYN and I am so thankful I came to them!"
"Dr. Wilson is an angel. I was looking for a new OB after a bad experience with my previous OB after a miscarriage. Dr. Wilson was highly recommended by my friends/co-workers when I got pregnant again and I can see why. He's so compassionate and reassuring when I was having anxiety about miscarrying again. I'm so sad that we have to move out of state and I won't be able to complete this pregnancy in his care, because he's truly the best doctor I've ever had. I would recommend him to anyone. My husband and mom both attended some appointments with me and they both loved him as well. Dr. Wilson is the gold standard of OB care."
"Been going here for over 3 years now. I got positive HPT, 4 days later I started bleeding which was comparable to a normal cycle. They had me come in for blood test, my HCG levels indicated I was indeed pregnant, had me come back 2 days later it more than doubled. I was having cramping & random spotting after initial bleed. They told me it was going to be an early miscarriage, the bleeding & pain is what worried me. They told me unless I started bleeding really bad & having horrible pain they wouldn't see me & then if that occurred, they would try to work me in. I never once even was seen by a dr during this only went in for bloodwork and had to call and leave messages to even get the results. I decided I wanted to get a 2nd opinion as this did not sit right with me. So I made an appointment to be seen somewhere else & I am so thankful I did they were so surprised they hadn't checked for ectopic or done blood typing, they did a transvaginal ultrasound immediately & seen free fluid on my right side yesterday, waiting a few more days to check again to confirm if ectopic or not. They are so horrible here, STAY AWAY!"
"Do NOT recommend them unless you absolutely have to come here. The ladies at the front desk were ok; a couple were friendly, but the rest are meh. And I know this review is long, but I think these specifics are relevant to potentially everyone. First, my husband and I are not wealthy whatsoever, and we had to pay over $500 a month towards the pre-hospital payments. They said that was standard, and it was for the delivery doctor to be on call, or to come in, or something, which I’ve never heard of, everyone had to pay it, and there was no other option, apparently. Anyone I tell that to is floored. We were really struggling, and I was working, along with my husband, up until the day our baby was born. The only doctor I recommend is Dr Nicole Wellbaum. She was great, super friendly, helpful, patient, and did fantastic delivering our baby; her nurse could be moody, but definitely not the worst, and it’s worth it for Wellbaum; I saw the other doctors, and none were noteworthy, IMO. I had my first child here, and was obviously new to pregnancy. About 3 months into my pregnancy, I started showing obvious signs of preeclampsia (rising blood pressure, severe swelling, protein in my urine, etc). My mom (who’s had 6 kids), pointed out that she thought I had it, and after researching, quickly realized I definitely did, yet NO ONE diagnosed me. The swelling got so painful and extreme, I couldn’t wear shoes (besides one pair of super loose house slippers), nor could stand long, and sent in pictures to the nurse on my portal of my swollen feet, that were so bad, if I crossed my ankles, the top of my other foot left a play-dough-like imprint in my other foot; seriously, look up pre-e videos of people poking/pressing their play-dough feet/calves- that’s what I had. All they said was that was NORMAL SWELLING, and still did nothing. Due to the pre-e they never diagnosed, despite all of the symptoms, our baby was born a month early (the way your body cures itself from pre-e), and in the hospital my blood pressure got so high (from the pre-e) I was at risk for seizures, so much so, a nurse was very rudely trying to not let my sweet PARENTS (not rowdy teenagers lol) in at one point so my heart rate wouldn’t go up at all, and without asking me (I wanted them there). I absolutely admire our doctors and nurses who sacrifice so much time and energy to be there… but, that does NOT excuse nasty behavior to anyone, especially a new, worried mom who HAS TO be there, and just just gave birth- It’s such a poor attitude choice. My mom has been in several hospitals around the country, and said she’d never experienced such rude nurses. Our baby came on a weird day where they had to change out nurses every 1-3hrs in the night, which meant every time a new one came in, I was woken up, and they needed to make sure I knew what I was doing. I’m a super polite person, and that’s understandable, but after the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th+ nurse came in telling me alllll of the exact same stuff again and again, I nicely would say, “Yes! Thank you so much, my other nurses told me the same things, and I’m very comfortable now, thank you.” And most of them gave me dirty looks and some snide remark, as if I’m a moron who couldn’t possibly absorb repeated information. Lastly, the hospital (LKN Regional), where you’ll go, never filed claims through my insurance, and now, over a 1y 1/2 later, I’m still dealing with the complications. How does that happen?? They took my insurance card and said I was good; what happened?? If y’all can, check out Atrium/Novant. Every. Single. nurse and doctor are ALL some of the nicest, most attentive people I’ve ever interacted with, including all of the front desk ladies- amazing. And it really showed me how rough this place was in hindsight. If you’re going to potentially spend days in a hospital with complications, surrounded by strangers, and paying thousands of dollars, go where they give you a 1000x better experience! It’s not here, unfortunately."
