"I have never felt more taken advantage of financially than I do after going to Dr. Travis. Dr. Travis decided that I needed a D&C (basically an abortion, though I was not pregnant) and I blindly agreed. In one day, $33,639.26 was billed and the whole thing took a couple hours (including recovery)! And there wasn't even anything really wrong with me! This is INCREDIBLE! The approximate costs of the procedure in Asheville are: Dilation and Curettage (13-16 weeks gestation): $850-$1600; Dilation and Evacuation (17-21 weeks gestation): $1500-$2100. WHY WAS $33,639.26 CHARGED? I'm angered that Dr. Travis didn't tell me about the costs (I figured the total would be a few thousand only). I also think that she could have and should have done this in a way that wasn't a financial windfall for the providers. I was financially slapped in the face. Aside from the above, I feel I was provided low quality service during my appointments leading up to the procedure. Dr Travis lacks empathy and caused me a great deal of physical pain, and then coldly told me to take Tylenol. BE WARNED! GET THE COSTS IN WRITING BEFORE YOU GO TO DR TRAVIS! And don't expect to be "cared" for."
