"If I could give less than one star, I would. I was overly excited, and hopeful that my appointment with Dr. Lewis would finally be the help I had desperately been looking for. Dr. Lewis came so highly recommended, I put all my confidence in him. Instead, I left the office fighting back tears. It took everything in me to check out, and get out the door before I burst into tears. Almost none of my symptoms were discussed, instead I was asked to pick which one was most important to fix. I was not heard. I was not advocated for. He made me feel so small, so worthless and as if my issues were my own fault due to my weight. Several comments about mental health, in correlation to hormone imbalances were also unacceptable and very unappreciated. For example, advising me to find someone to speak with, like a therapist or a friend to release my “emotional diarrhea”. I was made feel like a joke. I do not agree with his views on PCOS. While I’m not a doctor, I’m also aware I did not cause my PCOS, and it’s not my fault. All I could think was, I would never want my daughter to experience this humiliation. I would never want her to be made feel less of a person at a doctors appointment. I will never forget the way he made me feel in that moment. I feel sure it will have a lasting impact. I hope he will consider a different approach in the future, all I got from this appointment was a self esteem issue. Ladies advocate for yourself. Don’t sit silent. If you know something is wrong take a stand. My only mistake was not correcting him in the moment. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Dr. Lewis."
