"By far the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. My car was totaled while both of us were making left turns as shown in the pictures. Maria Robinson was my adjuster and I informed her there were at least four businesses with perfect views of the crash on their security cameras. She said that would require a subpoena and isn’t worth pursuing. After 4 weeks of waiting, she said she had me at 0% liability but AAA (other insurance) is saying 50/50. She agreed to that without a fight but didn’t inform me she was closing the claim. She also blocked my number over the next two weeks and ignored my voicemails before finally responding to an email. During that stretch I personally went to each business asking them for the footage. All but one had wiped their cameras by then and the fourth, a bank, wasn’t allowed to release the footage to me. I tried contacting the police again to have them receive the footage. But they said the same thing as the bank, that National General needs to send their investigator for it. Both the bank and police asked why I’m doing all the work and after explaining National General doesn’t want to get a subpoena - they both said it sounds like they are being lazy and don’t want to do the work. In the only email response I got from Maria, I had informed her the bank was willing to give out the footage if she reached out. However she just said to get the footage myself if I want her to review it. That was after explaining to her what the bank and police said. She then continued to block my number and ignore my emails. After three weeks of this and seven weeks since the accident, I finally reached out to the her supervisor and explained the situation. Maria called later that day but after another week of delayed back and forth, restated they aren’t going to retrieve the camera footage or push AAA on their 50/50 ruling. After two months of limbo, not only do I not have my car anymore, but have had to delay my start date for the Air Force. Because this accident is now going to have me at 50% liability I will need to submit waivers to my recruiter before I can leave for basic training. I’ve canceled my insurance with them and would recommend any other provider, even if you have to pay more."
"The worst agency in America if you have full coverage policy with this company please switch ASAP. First time in my life this company has failed me. There claim adjuster have attitudes they don't believe in followups or communicating whatsoever if you have towing roadside please note anybody can take your vehicle and say they work for insurance company because this company do not have access to towing no companies name addresses or phone numbers they used Allstate apps to set up your towing so if you have AAA please used them. Rental policy isn't good either they do not work with you plus you be responsible for paying own rentals regardless if your car in the repair shop and it's not your fault. Whoever is the CEO this company please considered retiring shut this place down. This place is a complete rip off when it comes to full coverage. Communication this place is awful I would be seeking insurance somewhere else and not recommending my family, friends, etc this insurance whatsoever."
"As a customer getting insurance they were fine, then I got into an accident that wasn’t my fault and now as of 1/4/2024 I need a copy of the declaration page so I can settle with the company and I cannot get a human to answer. They’re literally stopping me from settling because I cannot get a copy of that one paper. The insurance rate was great and I would use them again if I could talk to a person not a recording."
"National General is THE worst company I’ve dealt with in over a half century. I switched companies for a more affordable premium only to be notified via email a few days later of a ‘change’ to my policy. I called in and was told the additional charge of $107 was because I did not provide proof of prior coverage which was NOT requested by the agent when I signed up. I sent it within 5 minutes and told I’d still have a charge but they would ‘refund’ within 10 days and I told that person that I would most likely be canceling once I find another company - which I did almost immediately. So so call in today to cancel and was informed THEN that I would incur a FIFTY DOLLAR FEE to cancel!! I requested to waive due to non verbal disclosure, less than 1 month coverage etc but the escalation team member informed me that the fee disclosure was in the policy itself. It took her over 7 minutes to finally locate it! Fee charged regardless. Outrageous.. My next step is Yelp and then to the State of Oregon insurance commissioner to file a complaint. Keep shopping folks. NatGen is the WORST company I have ever dealt with in my 50+ years as a motorist. If I could give them negative 50 stars I would."
