The Great American Diner

"The food is OK, but incredibly expensive. My husband and I each had an omelette and split a pancake. The bill was almost $60. The waitresses work very hard and do their best in a very busy restaurant. Debbie is an exceptionally good waitress. Unfortunately, they make you wait until “your whole party is here” even when a spouse is simply parking the car. For that reason, I watched two tables be seated ahead of me in the four minutes it took my husband to park the car. And then we had to wait for 15 minutes for the next table— an uncomfortable one in a traffic pattern where I was bumped my entire breakfast. Not the booth that I should’ve had when I first walked in. On a positive note, they have eliminated the 3% credit card charge if you use a debit or credit card. That actually kept us from going there more often because when you add that on top of their already bloated prices, it’s almost like going out for dinner rather than breakfast. They’ve also removed some of the food items that we enjoyed at Steve’s original when the changed names. Steve’s Original has its issues, too, with how it looks on customers. Overall the atmosphere is, “You need us, we don’t really need you. We have more than enough customers.” Not really inclined to go back anytime soon. It’s an OK-to-good diner. Not a great one."

"Great kitschy dinner with Americana including Pick how many in a jar and a gum ball machine. Service was attentive friendly and excellent. Food was filling rich and good. Don’t go for a light meal. All good and filling."

"Second time. Orders the chicken within French toast and the chorizo omelette. But the real joy for us was The hot cider. Well balanced spices around the lip not too sweet nor cinnamony just great. Chicken was very well seasoned too. The entire French toast and chicken was very scrumptious. Omelette was good."

"Our waitress and service was great! We got seated immediately because we wanted to sit at the counter. It was very busy but very organized and not chaotic. The food was delish and I couldn't believe how big the pancakes were. And the pancakes to go looked even bigger... hint hint we may order take out one of these mornings!!! Cannot wait to come again."
