"If you're looking for a cozy home with an attentive landlord, then this is the place for you. The abundance of natural sunlight and a pet-friendly environment has made my stay in this apartment an absolute joy. My unit has a balcony that is perfect for my pet cat to enjoy some outdoor time. I enjoyed watching the amazing sunset every evening from this balcony and the big windows! Also, it is in walking distantance to the coffe shops, restaurants and the universities!"
"A decade after I first set foot in The Wilmont and fell in love with the wrought iron balconies, crystal doorknobs, and hardwood floors, my gf, pup, and I had an incredible experience living there for three years. Those years included the pandemic when so much was so different. Nevertheless, Zach was a wonderful landlord. He is very methodical and quick to respond to any potential issues that arise (we had nearly none). Zach goes above and beyond to promote a community vibe among residents, and maintain the property, without being intrusive. You really can't beat the location and views, especially from the 4th floor. We were lucky enough to live on the 4th near the old Nehi Bottling Plant, which offered views of fairground fireworks every holiday. Don't pass up the opportunity to join the community garden! Everyone was super nice and the plots grew everything we threw at them spectacularly. Zach, thanks for an excellent experience. We'll have fond memories of our time at The Wilmont. (Fun fact: one of Zach's previous careers was as a software developer and he had his hands in some projects that EVERYONE now uses every single day.)"
"I only meant to live at the Wilmont for a year but I ended up staying for 3. The building itself is beautiful, renovated the perfect amount to live comfortably while still feeling like a historic place. The location is close enough to NCSU campus when needed, but far enough away that it doesn't feel like college apartments. The neighbors who live there are all very friendly, and Zack the landlord is always around to help with any issues that present (it is an old building), while not being around too much. My friends were jealous of my balcony and view from the 4th floor, and I wouldn't have wanted to live anywhere else in Raleigh."
"The Wilmont is truly the best place I have ever lived. I lived here for two years in grad school. The location was superb. The interiors are magical: crystal knobs, built in shelves, and a fully modern kitchen. Zack is the best landlord you could ask for. So responsive and truly wants to build a community among the residents. While I was there he initiated a bbq for everyone to get to know each other, 7pm balcony waves while quarantine was happening, a Christmas Decor competition, and he recently assembled a calendar full of pictures of the Wilmont from residents. I left because I had to move but if I could I would move back to this building in an instant."
"I cannot recommend this apartment enough! The apartments are spacious with lovely high ceilings and 1920s charm (with all the modern comforts like a dishwasher lol). Lots and lots of character! The building is well kept with regularly scheduled air filter changes and pest control. Zack is an incredible landlord who is very responsive and cares deeply about each tenant and builds a sense of community. He is very upfront with the short list of rules and regulations for the apartments and responds in a timely manner to any requests made. He’s just a great human all around! Some things to consider: the back stair case can be tough - especially if you’re living in a higher floor - but you get used to it and it wasn’t really a hindrance for me. There’s also a large indoor staircase that’s good for moving in large pieces. Laundry room is accessible through the outside and you have to pay to wash - which is a small inconvenience. Overall I loved my time at the wilmont and if I hadn’t left for grad school I would have stayed much longer!"
