"When I first moved in, I enjoyed the Marlowe for the most part it was a quiet safe place. The location is good. The maintenance people are super nice and fast. They have nice walking trails. Downside is the walls and floors are paper thin. Nobody picks up their dog poop so be careful walking in the grass. However I didn’t start having major problems until towards the end of my lease. I lived here for two years and the events leading up to this is the reason why I moved they change management which is one of the main concerns of why I’m leaving. Particularly the community manager Chris has made my stay very unwelcoming and unpleasant. I got several calls within 2 to 3 days harassing me about saying my dog was barking excessively for five minutes straight and that my neighbors complained. Mind you I’ve been living here for two years and I’ve become quite friendly with my neighbors so I know them and they know me and they have never once called and complained on my dog barking excessively ever, when this incident occurred I was at the house and my dog doesn’t even bark he may bark if he hears somebody at the door like a package delivery guy or somebody walking by etc. like what normal dogs do, but will stop once the noise goes away. I wouldn’t even listen to my dog bark for five minutes straight let alone even one minute. I also have ring cameras in cameras in the home to prove this, so when I told him I had proof that my dog was not barking for five minutes straight. He then sent me this pathetic eight second video of them recording right outside of my door, which I thought was very weird and very unprofessional. First, they said it was my neighbor but clearly they were doing an apartment tour and I guess the future tenants didn’t want the apartment trying to blame it on my dog for barking but yet they were standing literally right outside of my door wondering why my dog was barking because he can sense that you’re there duh, like how idiotic is that. Then I had an issue with my water. My toilet was leaking and caused my water bill to become $500 when I contacted Chris about this issue he was very rude not helpful. He basically said that I should know when there’s a leak in the apartment, and that I had to pay the bill. However, when I contacted conservice, they happily gave me a readjustment to my bill and credited me the money. He didn’t even know who service the water in our area, he told me Raleigh water department, which for him to be a community leader I find that very disturbing and he doesn’t even know what’s going on in his community doesn’t even know who services this area. He was very egoistic, and just kept shifting the blame on me like it was my fault, and that I should know when there’s a leak in the apartment he was not kind at all, and did not want to find ways to help me he didn’t even know that the water company can adjust your bill if it’s skyrockets out of control, which that’s common knowledge that anybody should know, but he thinks it’s common knowledge for me to know when there’s a leak in my apartment. For the price you can find something much more “luxurious” than this place."
"The apartment is nice, with up-to-date appliances. The maintenance team is efficient and responsive. My major annoyance with Marlowe is that they charged us $50 per hour for using the clubhouse for our small gathering. This fee wasn't disclosed during the rental process, so we moved the party to our apartment to avoid a $200 charge which was a very bad experience."
"Would recommend living at Marlowe Lake Boone. The amenities are great and the leasing office plans community events like food trucks which I enjoy. The location is great as it's right by the belt line and on the greenway. It's very convenient to be so close to a grocery store, a Starbucks and lots of other restaurants. There are sometimes lots of bugs, but that is expected as we live on the greenway and are surrounded by lots of trees. It can be hard at times to reach someone in the leasing office in-person, but maintenance is quick and the facility is well kept. The balconies are fantastic, the appliances are up to date and overall the inside of the apartments are really nice. Overall, I have enjoyed my experience living here!"
"The best part of this apartment is its location. If you commute to RTP/Durham, getting on I40 is so easy. The greenway trails are super accessible and there’s lots of food options nearby. The dog park, gym and pool are really nice. The people that work in the office and the maintenance staff are also really great. I have 3 big complaints in the 2 years I lived here. I would highly not recommend living on anything that isn’t the top floor. Footsteps from upstairs neighbors are super loud. I don’t necessarily think it’s intentional all the time, but the floors do not do a great job of insulating sound. We ended up moving to a top floor apartment after the 1st year. My second complaint is the bugs. We had cockroach encounters in the double digits in our 2nd year living here. It didn’t matter how many times we got pest preventative care or how clean the apartment was, they always ended up inside. To pay $2200/month for an apt and have to deal with roaches is crazy to me. Lastly people do not pick up their dog poop here. Despite the number of trash cans available, they will just leave it in the grass for you to step in."
"My experience at The Marlowe has been tremendous. From dealing with competent property management professionals to being a part of such a dog friendly and welcoming community, I truly recommend going ahead and pulling the trigger for anyone who’s considering this place as their next home. The easy access to the greenways have been one of my favorite parts about living here. Other than that, the actual apartment homes are high quality and are as advertised. The premises is also really well maintained and in a good location. You just can’t beat high quality living in a prime location."
