"I visited Prestige many times when I lived in Poughkeepsie. The weekend before Thanksgiving, I was driving back home to visit family when the message popped up on the dash - brake light out. So I visited here the week of Thanksgiving, only had to wait a few minutes before they saw me, and about 15 minutes total before it was all done. Such wait times are unheard of by me. You’ll be waiting an hour if you’re lucky. And the price was reasonable as well. All the places by me in northern Virginia are crooks, but Prestige is honest, hard working, and fast, but not so fast that they do shoddy work. I only regret that I no longer live in the area so I will probably never visit again."
"I wish I could give 0 stars Brought a truck to them that I got for dirty cheap and asked them to fix the parking brake, figure out the howling vibration and if there was anything else the truck needed or any weird noises it had. They tell me that the front diff needs to be replaced as well as the lead spring shackles. I said if that’s what needs to be done then do it. I was told the noise may not go away but the truck needs a diff. After about 4 weeks I was told my truck is on the lift everything just getting out back together. The following work day I watched my truck get parked after the job. (I pass the shop every day). Took them 3 days to even call me to tell me it was done. I go to get the truck to find out one of the main reasons I brought it there was recommended to be done. THE PARKING BRAKE!!! I made sure on the phone counter times that it was a manual truck and needed the brake. A week later I watch the truck sit in their lot behind the shop for another 3 days before I get a phone call. Seems like they parked it alone in the grass lot behind the shop so I wouldn’t call and ask about it again. I get the truck to find out an airbag light is on. Wasn’t on before. There’s a cup console that sits in the gap of the passenger seat I use. It was on the floor under the dashboard. So after investigating what looked like a seat someone slammed forward, I found an air back sensor that was ripped. Must’ve been when they went to grab the ebrake cables and and unjoint from behind the seats. But when I called they said the truck came in with that light. I know for a fact it didn’t. They also broke a lug nut on every corner. The truck still drives EXACTLY THE SAME. Same vibrating howl and all. Truck has a squealing belt noise. Are they that incompetent that they didn’t hear the belt squeal sound? Did my front diff really need to be replaced or could it have been a driveshaft? Are they just a part slap shop? They sound trust worthy when you talk to them, but are they? Letting my car sit for a week in total after being “finished”. Missing important things. Recommending things I told them to do. Breaking things carelessly (lugs and airbag sensor) Chose them out of convenience but they’ve done nothing but inconvenience my bank account. Larry will come on here and reply that it was an old truck that was beat up and yadayada. Then either refuse work on it or get better at diag. I understand the noise wasn’t garunteed to be gone, but I didn’t give you all this money to get the truck back in almost identical shape. Very upset and disappointed."

"Prestige Automotive is an honest establishment. I’ve lived in the Hudson Valley for the past 27 years. I frequented Mavis, Midas, Firestone, and other auto repairs. It’s always a hit or miss and depends if the manager has reached their quotas. I recently moved to Poughkeepsie and as a crazy as it may sound, I had the pleasure of meeting Larry, owner of Prestige Automotive, and his son Lawrence. I had one of those months where I needed repairs to three of my four family cars. My car, a 2020 Cadillac, needed a minor repair. The dealer wanted to charge me double to remove and replace wheel locks. I bought replacements at Autozone, and Lawrence did the job in less than ½ hour at ½ the price. I left there with a smile and a happy heart. Two weeks later, my wife’s car, a 2011 Dodge Avenger, wouldn’t start. It had over 130K miles and had not had a tune up since I bought it with 65K miles. It needed a battery, new plugs, coils and related parts. Again, I left there satisfied that I paid a fair price. Lastly, my son, while driving his 2014 Kia Optima (with 138K miles) on I87, was stranded off of New Paltz with engine problems. Since I had two good experiences with Prestige Automotive, I had AAA bring the car to Prestige Automotive. After a couple of days of a preliminary diagnostic test, Larry called me and told me that the car probably needed a new engine. He told me he didn’t want to void the warranty because that particular Kia and year were part of a recall. He gave me a related NHTSA bulletin, as well as, Kia recall information and instructed me to tow it to the dealer. After further testing by Kia, the new engine was installed by Kia free of charge. Thank you, Larry, for your honesty. You definitely have a new customer!"
"Brought my truck in for a leaking brake line on Thursday, Larry said he would call me on Friday to tell me the cost of repairs. Called him three times on Friday, he only gave me excuses on why I couldn't get my truck back until Saturday. The call finally came at noon on Saturday. I asked what would be the cost, he replied $385. I said How Much? He called back quickly to say he made a mistake $ 285. Claimed it took two hours to replace the brake line! Don't believe Larry. Find any other garage to get your vehicle repaired. Also claimed my Truck needed to be inspected, the inspection sticker was up to date!"
