"My fiancé took a day off of work today to bring my car in for a wheel alignment. When he made the appointment he made sure to mention this and they confirmed the vehicle would be done that day. Our appointment was at three and before my fiancé left he confirmed his phone number with them. They close at six. At quarter to six we drove up to monroe and the manager walked in handed him the keys and said “we didn’t get to it sorry” my fiancé then asked him why they didn’t get to it. He was told that the technician left with a family emergency. I have seen other reviews where this excuse has been used. I am extremely disappointed with this experience. My fiancé took a day off of work to do this. And when they realized they couldn’t do it a call would have been nice. If we wouldn’t have showed up when we did as they were closing down we wouldn’t have gotten the car back today. They were extremely unprofessional in every way and I would encourage anyone reading this to find another shop."
"So a while back ago, I brought my car to Monroe Muffler to get a light replaced, tires rotated and new ones put on my car. When I got it back, the power steering was completely off on it. They told me my rack was going and it would be a couple thousand dollar fix. Which, in itself was a lie considering the part only costs a couple hundred. It sat in my driveway, undrivable, for months because I thought it needed a repair I couldn’t afford. I missed work, appointments, etc. without my car. My dad offered to help pay for it so I got it towed out of my driveway and to a legit shop. Turns out, someone put a battery in my car that wasn’t supposed to be in my car. It was too low powered to run it, which was effecting the rack, which is electric and relies heavily on a good battery. I’ve never had the battery replaced so it should’ve been the one that came with my car but it 100% wasn’t. It drives perfectly now with the battery it’s SUPPOSED to have. And it was a much cheaper expense than what Monroe quoted. $300 for the battery and diagnostics, compared to $2,000+ they quoted for the rack. On top of that, the customer service I received that day was awful too. Before picking it up , they informed me that they lost my keys and wouldn’t connect me to a manager about it. When I came in to get my car, I brought my friend with me (who’s a man) and they wouldn’t even talk to ME about MY car, they only talked to my friend who had nothing to do with my car. I got disrespected multiple times from the manager of the shop as well. I’ll be calling the better business bureau, and probably corporate, and my lawyer."
"I was very disappointed in my service experience. Especially the lack of actual service provided and the tone of those responsible for providing it. I ordered new tires through Tire Rack and was pleasantly surprised that Monroe was listed as a preferred installer. I have gotten all the work done on my car with Monroe for many years. I called the store to confirm whether they were installers and if I could ship my tires there. Monroe said yes, and told me to call and make an appointment after the tires were delivered. Once I saw that the tires were delivered, I set up an appointment online because Monroe's location was closed at that time. I called the next time they were open and confirmed my online appointment with someone at the store, explaining the situation and that my tires had been delivered there. I used one of my few vacation days at work to go get my new tires put on. Upon arrival, I patiently waited to talk to someone, but nobody even acknowledged that I was there. When I was finally able to speak to someone, he said they couldn’t install my tires today. He continued to say that online appointments were done through the corporate office, with no regard to the local store. I explained to him that I had called his location and double checked the appointment directly with the store! This was met with nothing more than a blank stare as the staff member clearly thought up more excuses. He went on to tell me that they were understaffed and behind on work because someone left early. I do understand these situations can occur, but why did nobody bother to call me about changing my appointment? Now I had missed a work day and used up valuable vacation time for nothing. I told him I would just take my tires because I couldn’t afford to reschedule and take another day off for the work to be done. While I was explaining this, another staff member told the person I was talking to that they should be able to accommodate me in the next hour because they had two technicians and the manager in. I had called my husband in the meantime to take my tires elsewhere, but when he arrived Monroe staff said they would be able to do it and we could come back. We returned half an hour before closing and the tires were still not done. They did mention the work would be done before closing, but I didn’t want to have 4 tires mounted and balanced in 30 minutes because it didn’t seem safe. The technician offered no apology and treated us like we were the bad guys. It seemed like they didn’t install the tires on purpose in order to make us wait longer. The waiting room and the technician both possessed an overwhelming stench of strong cannabis. We took my tires and left, feeling frustrated, disappointed, and disrespected. Monroe will never get another dime of my money or my recommendation ever again."
"They diagnosed me with a pipe replacement that may not have even been necessary and didn't even catch the tail pipe falling out of my muffler until I brought it up to them. Charged me almost $1000 for a resonator pipe and tail pipe and never actually gave me a quote before doing the repairs. Luckily I had the money in savings but who knows what could have happened if I didn't have it."
"If I didn’t have to give them a star at all I wouldn’t. Was going to charge me triple for my issue, then what other car places quoted. Price gouging. Always claims to be busy, you can get there when they open and they never have a estimated time when you can pick up your vehicle. Even if you need something as simple as air in a tire, you’ll wait hours for them to service you. You should just leave your car and hope they call sooner rather then later. Horrible place. I’ll never go there again plus they racist like the other comments states."
