Sheraton Raleigh Hotel

"This hotel is a convenient location to great tasting food, art experiences, and the RDU airport. The hotel and rooms were the cleanest rooms I have ever seen and the air in the room was refreshing - cleanest smelling room I have experienced in a almost a decade. The staff was friendly, helpful, and caring. Although the hotel had an issue with not providing hot water when I woke up one morning they were honest about having an issue, accepted the feedback with class but most importantly fixed the issue. However the management needs to know why this system issue was not identified before the breakdown because it made the start of my important business day extremely uncomfortable."

"Arrived to a not so clean room, the outlet box they have is sticky and there was gross thick dust particles on the toilet. I didn’t care honestly because this was a work trip and I was exhausted and feeling a bit sick. I slept on and off all day and noticed my room was really hot. It was 88° to be exact. I changed the setting to cool and set it all the way to 50° and fell back asleep. Woke up covered in sweat and called the front desk. Took over 5 minutes of ringing for anyone to answer and ai asked for a fan to be brought to my room and explained that it was boiling in my room. Was told a fan would be brought up right away. Waited 20 minutes and called again. Was told there are no fans. Did they care to inform me that? No of course not. The front desk offers to send maintenance up, mind you it is now 10:30 pm. No I want to switch rooms, she tells me someone will bring you a new key right away. Takes them 10 minutes, I am in fact on my way down when I run into someone with a key for me. Ridiculous."

"This place is in a great location, the service at the conference was decent. My room was disgusting. No hot water, the bathroom door barely closed because of rusty hinges, there was a maintenance person in my room when I arrived. The toilet takes 2 flushed every time. The "luxury vinyl flooring" was unsticking by the window, so every time I walked there it sunk and popped. I took 2 cold showers. Only 2 elevators worked. There is a table with plugs but no chair to work at it, so I had to work from bed. Overall disappointed. Hope they move the conference next year."

"Not the worst hotel but not great. The hotel restaurant is decent. The staff are friendly. The only major issue I had was that the staff mistakenly assigned my room to a new guest an hour after I checked in. I had to yell through the door to the guy trying to use his key card to enter my room that he is trying to enter an already occupied room. He apologized and left. A short while later another person started knocking on my door. Apparently the staff sent someone to my room completely unannounced to verify that I was in the correct room (why couldn’t they use the phone?) and the man knocking on my door had nothing identifying as hotel staff. I told him to wait while I call the front desk but I couldn’t figure out how to call the front desk to verify the person at my door because the phone is messed up (see photo). Eventually I got through to the front desk and they apologized for the inconvenience. The staff is not rude or anything, in fact they were very polite. But it was an irritating experience. Also the elevator was dirty and looked like someone spilled fruit loops a long time ago and no one bothered to clean it up. Anyway it’s definitely not the worst place I’ve stayed but plenty of room for improvement."
