"Had such a wonderful experience at Sushi Zo Hanare. When we arrived it was just two parties for the night (4 people). It felt so intimate and private almost like a private dinner with the chef. The courses were all so delicious, the fish was fresh, and carefully curated. You could see that a lot of creativity went into creating the menu. I thoroughly enjoyed each bite. By the end of night (almost 2.5 hours) I was stuffed. Incredible experience would highly recommend. And yes, it is expensive but I truly believe that the money was well spent for the experience and the top notch quality omakase. Spoil yourself and have dinner here."
"What an amazing experience this was - I came across Sushi Zo while driving by in a taxi, and was intrigued by the tiny storefront and minimal advertising - so glad I googled it!! Chef Kevin was incredible - so passionate and excited about his craft. You could see him light up as he described each course and his (deeply involved and time consuming) preparation techniques. He is definitely a chef to watch - he seems to borrow from many influences and the result is an increibly unique and tasty sushi exeprerience. Once you add a few bottles of sake, it gets expensive quickly, but is definitely a meal you will remember!!"
"Great omakase experience! There were 8 of us seated at the bar, and 2 chefs prepared each course in front of us, serving each one as it was made. It was great to see all of the preparation that went into each bite, and everything we had was wonderful with high quality ingredients. A few standout dishes that I enjoyed were an uni tasting of 3 different types of uni, some delicious wagyu with caviar, and some awesome otoro."
"Dined at Sushi Zo Hanare on a thursday evening:) There are many omakase spots in NYC and we considered many other places before choosing Sushi Zo; but I am so glad we ended up deciding to come here! I loved that there were more appetizer courses before the nigiris started. Uni tasting was so good and every single bite was delicious. I could tell that the ingredients were high quality and selected carefully. I enjoyed generous use of uni and truffle, as well as excellent pieces of wagyu and tuna. Although the nigiri pieces are not very big, we definitely left full and satisfied after all the courses. We will definitely come back and would recommend this place to friends without hesitation. Thank you to all the chefs and staff for a wonderful experience!"
"An absolutely amazing experience! Their Omakase was beautifully and creatively presented and loved all of them. The chefs were very friendly and had the best hospitality. This place has only 8 seats so enjoyed my private, intimate experience! I hope to go back soon!"
