"Amazing views and nice hike! The road to the lookout is well maintained. We easily did it in a KIA sedan. We parked across from the gate leading to the tower, right along Forest Rd 85. 0.8 up the gradual incline to the top along a well maintained fire road. The view from the top was well worth the hike up. Our 2 Boston Terriers loved it too! We would definitely do this trail again."
"A nice moderate uphill climb to the firetower. I measured 1.5 miles round trip and 425ft elevation gain. It's an almost constant climb up the gravel road for .7 miles up. If you park across from the street at the second gate, it takes some distance off the hike. The views are amazing for the area and you can see just about 360 degrees. The top of the tower is closed but the stairs still provide a great view. It would make for a great picnic stop just make sure you bring bug spray in the summer as the bugs were terrible."
"Makes for a nice hike with the family. Not too long and strenuous, and the top has amazing views of the surrounding area. Bring a small picnic if you wish. Let the kids run around."
"We did this late October and there top of the tower was closed, still cool to see. Hike is straight up of course, not too bad especially if you park at the second gate if there’s room. It’s near a shooting range you may hear gun fire. The drive up to the gate has clearly marked signs so it’s easy to find."
"It was an ok hike is all up hill obviously too get to the tower but when we got there you couldn't go up on the tower only on the stairs so it was disappointing. I'm sure on a clear day it'd be beautiful but still disappointing as you can get pictures from the top in all directions"
