He was personable, accommodating and great person to have a good time with. Walker was able to maneuver us through a very low tide. The rafting itself was an absolute breeze! The trip was thoughtfully planned to ensure minimal rapids, making it the perfect choice for those who want a relaxing and enjoyable time on the water. The gentle current allowed us to soak in the beautiful scenery along the river without any strenuous paddling, allowing us to fully unwind and enjoy the day. But that was just the beginning of the magic! What followed after the rafting portion was truly extraordinary. Cody led us on a short walk to some of the most incredible craft breweries that Asheville has to offer. Our first stop was the Cascade Lounge, a charming spot with an incredible selection of local brews. The ambience was inviting, and we had a chance to mingle with other participants on the tour, making new friends and sharing stories. Next up was the renowned 12 Bones Smokehouse & Brewery, a gem of a place that made our taste buds dance with joy. The combination of smoky, delicious barbecue paired with their handcrafted beers was nothing short of divine. It was an experience that left us all wanting more. Finally, we wrapped up our tour at the iconic New Belgium Brewing, where we were treated to a remarkable selection of their finest brews. The passion and dedication they put into their craft were evident in every sip we took. Cody, our host, was undoubtedly the highlight of the tour. His knowledge of the local area and the craft beer scene was impressive, and he made sure to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Engaging in conversation with him was a pleasure, as he shared fascinating insights and stories about Asheville's rich history and culture. If you appreciate good beer or simply enjoy a leisurely float down the river, this tour is an absolute must-do! "Cody was an excellent guide. All we said was we’re willing to hike uphill to great views and boy did he deliver! He chose a hike which he thought would be less crowded, only a mile away from one of the more popular hikes, and we had the whole mountain to ourselves. He was knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and kept a good pace. We had time for a picnic lunch at the top and made our way down and back in the time allotted. I think that says a lot about the level of experience when someone says they’ll pick you up and drop you off at a specific time and they do so."
