"Unlike the other reviews I had a negative experience with Eastern Interiors. I ordered Graber roller shades for every window in my new home from Bill Short. Total cost of $3650.69. The shades were installed by Bill the end of May this year. The next day I contacted Bill and asked to order blackout shades for the master bedroom. I paid 50% of the cost and Bill was scheduled to come out mid August to install the BO shades. Prior to Bill coming back to install the BO shades I noticed the 2 shades in the dining room were fraying on the edges of the shades. I then looked at all of the shades and found every one of the shades had started to fray. When Bill came to install the BO shades I showed him the defective shades and told him I wanted my money back. I refused to have the BO shades installed since they were also Graber shades and I was not happy with the quality. Bill informed me he would need to reach out to Graber and would get back to me regarding how it would be addressed. I told him I expected a full refund since the shades are defected. It took Bill almost an entire month to respond to my multiple requests for a resolution. I finally received an email from him on September 12th. He stated, "The product has been deemed defective, and covered under warranty with the manufacturer. Custom orders are non refundable, you have refused to allow for a warranty claim in the manufacturer. As goodwill I will issue a credit memo to your account in the amount of $2839.55." I was never offered to place a warranty claim with the manufacture as Bill notes I refused this in his email. I certainly wasn't interested in replacing the shades since the quality was so poor after only 3 months of them being installed. In regards to the BO shades he stated, "Custom orders are not returnable or refundable, thus the deposit payment ($325.) on this order will not be returned. The balance of this invoice has been written off as goodwill." I refused to agree with this determination and reached out to Graber. After several weeks and many calls to customer service the representative informed me there was nothing they could do. The determination of a refund is made by the service provider, Eastern Interiors, and they couldn't do anything further. I am out $1136.14 and a house full of shades. On top of that my experience in working with Bill Short was very unpleasant. He was very slow to respond to my requests. Did not return phone calls and informed me he could deliver the BO shades I paid for but he would not install them. He stated, "You can have the new company installing your new shades install the BO shades." I have never experienced such poor service from any of the companies I have dealt with in building my new home. I would not recommend Eastern Interiors or Graber to provide shades for anyone's home."
