"My husband and I just stayed at mountain mist. What a wonderful place away from the hustle but close enough, Absolutely perfect location, it was very clean and comfortable very secluded. Easy entry no problems I would highly recommend staying in this cabin!"
"We have stayed with Ridgecrest cabins for over 20 years. Very nice people and never had a problem. We have stayed at almost every cabin they have. They have went out of their way to accommodate us many times over the years. We never stay any where else. Love the Reagans!"
"My husband an I an our 2 small kids arrived Saturday July 23rd, an stayed at the river rest cabin, first off when we got there is was so hot it was unreal getting to looking around an there is insulation in every vent throughout the house an the air is not able to come thru, then I go to cook an the hot water smells like rotten eggs I call on sunday an tell them an they say there gonna call the home owner an have them send someone out, well I have to give my kids a bath because they there not going without one an they scream it stinks too bad, so on Tuesday someone has still yet to come so my husband calls them we are told to call back that afternoon an they would figure out something out we did an we were told someone would be out on wednesday an they would refund 1 night stay. Wednesday we leave to go to town come back around 4 or so an no one has come water still stinks, well finally around 630 or so someone comes to fix it an he tells it is completely out of some chemicals the water system needed an when he went to drain the hot water heater he gagged. We couldnt even enjoy the hot tub because the water was so dingy, an looks like it hasn't been changed in forever. The big hottub upstairs it broken an couldn't be used because you didn't have enough hot water!! Needless to say we left a day early, we left Friday around lunch time!!!! An it's aug.3rd an we have still yet to see the refund we was suppose to get. I hope whoever stays at the river rest next you enjoys the water!!!"
"My family of four stayed at Mountain Serenity last week. We had an excellent time. The cabin was great - very clean with super comfortable beds. The living area was comfortable also. After tiring ourselves out in the GSMNP all day, we could relax and watch movies in the evening (bring your own DVDs). The only reason I didn't give a fifth star was that the kitchen could have been stocked a little better. I wanted to make spaghetti one night, but we had to buy a colander. There was no pot holder, and the silver ware was a little sparse. For the few nights we ate in, it worked out. Definitely recommend."
"First Impression: My boyfriend and I recently returned from a stay in Mountain Charm. When we first arrived, we were completely charmed by the cabin. Located in the middle of the woods, the surrounding scenery was peaceful and relaxing. The spacious cabin was clean--although we washed all the dishes we used before actually using them--just as a precaution. Upon closer inspection, we noticed that although all the utilities were in good working condition, they were definitely aged. For example, the jacuzzi's tile/surface had several cracks of wear-and-tear and the base of its cold water faucet leaked a little. The Bedroom/Sleep Quality: We stayed in the master bedroom located off the jacuzzi room. The mattress and pillows were really comfortable. We chose this bed over the other simply because the other room's mattress was squeaky. Minor Complaints/Concerns: 1) On day 3 of our stay, we were (un)pleasantly surprised by a bat flying around the jacuzzi room at approximately 10:30 at night. Thankfully, we were able to get out of the room and trap it inside. We immediately called the office's number to report it, and Dennis, to his credit, came out within 30 minutes to catch and release it outside for us. He doesn't know how the bat came to be in there--our best guess is a former guest had opened the windows in the jacuzzi room (none of the windows have screens), and the bat must have gotten in then. He offered to send someone out the next day to have the tub sanitized; however, we never received any sort of confirmation or proof that someone *did* come sanitize it, so we didn't risk using it the rest of our trip. 2) Because we didn't want to use the jacuzzi, we attempted to use the hot tub several times. The first time was perfect---super relaxing and comfortable. Unfortunately, the second time we got in it, the water wasn't remotely close to hot--more like lukewarm bath water. We checked that the heat was turned on, but it didn't seem to be heating--at least to the temperature of normal hot tubs. Again, I think this shows signs of normal wear-and-tear on the utilities of the cabin. 3) Our shower set off the smoke detectors on our first day. Apparently the humidity of the shower triggered the alarm, and it wouldn't stop going off. We ultimately took the batteries out for the rest of our stay and replaced them before we left since we didn't want to worry about it each time we showered. Final thoughts: While we were generally happy with our cabin choice and the price we paid for it, I think we will stay at different cabin the next time we travel to Gatlinburg. We may still book with Ridgecrest--at a different cabin--because the customer service and general comfort we experienced slightly outweighs the minor inconveniences we encountered."
