"After experiencing voiding broken glass, I went to Harris Urology. Dr. Verb put me on FlowMax and it helped for a while. After a Sonagram and a Physical examination of my Prostate and finally she used a Scope to look at my Prostate, she said that I needed to have TURP Surgery. She has done this procedure for 30 years and she assured me that without it I would have Bladder Damage and continued pain. The Surgery at HARRIS Hospital in Sylva went "Text Book" and I was able to go home that day. It is imperative that you do exactly what the doctor tells you to do after TURP surgery. I am in my 3rd week after surgery and things are slowly getting better. It takes 4 to 8 weeks to completely recover and heal from the surgery. My advice is Don't put off getting help for urinary pain. If you live in Western North Carolina Sylva area ,Harris Urology is your best place to go. Dr. Verb has been in this business for a long time. Over 30 years. And as long as you follow her instructions you will have a good outcome. Harris Hospital in Sylva is a very good Hospital. My wife and myself have been patients there and had great experiences with the Doctors and the Nurses there. I have also learned that the Small town life is slower and Doctors will take the time to listen to you and don't rush to get you out of the door. Don't be afraid and get the help you need! You have a great place at Harris Urology."

"Saved my father's life by actually doing testing to really discover what was going on. VA didn't even scratch the surface and let a chronic issue languish which could have led to my father's demise. Feel like we are doing all we can at this point and are on a "sane" treatment path which is avoiding unnecessary medications and treatments. I've learned a lot from Dr. Vereb, which has made me a better caretaker. Staff has spent a lot of time answering numerous questions and have shown a lot of care while keeping me calm and centered. Everything has gone as well as it could have with good recoveries from surgeries and procedures. Urology is SO important to elderly men and Harris Regional (as an administrative organization and business entity) really needs to do a better job at this - as does the triage clinic that is the new Angel Hospital/Emergency Room. Angel has dropped the ball 2 times with my father and IF I had not been informed by Dr. Vereb we would have left the last ER visit without the proper procedures being performed which could have been very deleterious to his health. I can say I trust Dr. Vereb and the staff to do a good job, but what I don't trust is Harris Regional to support its' various specialties with proper staffing. My father was referred by VA Community Services and I have NO complaint about that relationship."

"Well I have to say this group at Harris Urology are so nice and the service they provide is swift. I was able to book surgery within 2 weeks(On my end I had to reschedule). The surgery was smooth, the nurses were attentive and friendly to myself and my partner. I had a swift follow up visit with continued instructions and plan to follow up again on my post op. I’d recommend this group to any of my friends or family. The staff still practices covid protocols and I’m thankful for that. The surgery was not very painful just more less discomfort if anything. The doctor was very clear to what she was going to do as well as the staff assisting her. I’m pleased with the experience."
