Reviews of New Generations Family Birthing Center at Harris Regional Hospital
"I had my first born at this place and it was a very good experience, the nurses and midwives checked on me regularly to see if I was progressing and listened to me when I said I needed the epidural and needed to push! Definitely coming back to have my second born in July"
"I had my first baby in November 2022. I had the most beautiful experience. The nurses and staff treated me like I was their family, to include holding my hand or cradling my body when my pain was extreme. I will forever be thankful for this staff that are angels on earth, both L&D and Mom&Baby/Postpartum. I especially will remember the nurse, Shelby, that did my intake and helped deliver my baby her following shift. I have never experienced such kindness and I think about everyone who helped me in such a transitional time in life very often. I’m so grateful for each of them. The rooms and practices really do have a more “birth center” feel than a hospital. Nothing was done without my informed consent, I was able to labor in the tub, and I didn’t even need a birth plan because everything I wanted was already standard procedure at this hospital (delayed cord clamping, an hour of skin to skin, baby not leaving room, etc) My postpartum nurse was also such a strong advocate for me during a bili blanket situation with the company rep who brought my take home equipment. I have recommended Harris Women’s/Harris Regional to every young woman I know. Thank you again! 10/10 will have babies here again!"
"Very unprofessional gave my gf a IV an dang near blowed her vain out they poked her 3 times went through the vain once she had blood all over her then Tryed to act like it was normal will not be back rooms are nasty"
"I had a placental abruption at 34 weeks and we rushed to Harris. From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated with great care. Our Midwife Rachel was amazing as well as all the nurses. Our baby stayed in the NICU after an emergency csection. The NICU staff went above and beyond for us everyday. As first time parents, they taught us everything about our son’s care and all his needs as a preemie. They really welcomed us with open arms. We never expected this level of care from a small town hospital, but we were truly blown away. The lactation consultants were also so helpful and very encouraging and we are still in contact with them regularly as they help us navigate breastfeeding a preemie. I’m so glad this facility is local to us."
"MY BABY DIED A HORRIFIC DEATH HERE DUE TO THEIR NEGLECT. STAY AWAY!!!!! I am a healthy woman who had prenatal care from 5 weeks of pregnancy, with BCBS insurance. I weighed 121 pounds at the start of my pregnancy, don't drink or do any drugs and work full time. In August of 2018, they brought me in for an induction, left me alone in a room all day long, did not monitor my labor and allowed my child to die from oxygen deprivation. The loopy acting midwife, Sally Schaefer, promised to return at Noon, yet did not return until after 5:00, and then could not locate an OBGYN because there were no OBGYNs in the hospital. When they finally got an OBGYN to perform a C section, they knocked me out with general anesthesia for two hours, then handed me my dead baby boy, who was limp and gray. Then, they attempted to not release complete records of this event. Tell all women you know not to have a baby here if you care about the life of women and babies."
