"Don't go here. Idc how good they think they are. Go out of state or something pay the extra to get the right help cause this place is not it. How do have a gastro receptionist that doesn't know anything about what she's calling for? I have talked to multiple people and we would like to set up an esophageal. Excuse me? What is that? Her response I have no idea. Then why would I schedule it with you?? I just had an endoscopy done ive had almost every test you can imagine and you've given me 0 answers but want to start all over??"
"I just called to scheduale an appointment for a polyp issue that my husband have had. I wanted to see Dr. Sandler but then the lady on the phone told me he is not a fit??!! but they have other doctors who specialize in polyp concerns. I asked for the names of doctors (so I can look them up prior to sending referals) but she refuses to tell me any names because "it is so much for me to go through the list" and "we have 50 doctors so it is hard for me to go through the list". WHAT?!!! You are sitting there and this is your job and you say this is too hard for you to find the names of the doctors because they are so many!!!!! What kind of practice is this and why was she hired???? I will never come to your office."
"I don't know how the care is, since I was never able to get an appointment after 2 months of trying and endless phone calls. They said I needed a referral from my primary care physician, so I called my PCP to send one over. I thought UNC would call to schedule after the got it, but when I didn't hear after a couple of weeks, I called and they said the referral wasn't in the system yet. I waited a couple more weeks and called again. This time they said they had gotten the referral but had asked my PCP for more detailed information. I called the PCP who said they had not received a request for more information. I called UNC again, and this time the person I talked said they had not received the referral that the previous person told me they had received. I asked to speak to a supervisor and got his voice mail. I have left him 3 messages and he hasn't called me back. There is a doctor there I wanted to see, but I despair of ever getting in!"
"I’ve been trying to get seen here for 3 months. PCP sent over a referral. I waited for them to call to schedule and never heard anything so when I called they said they were waiting on lab tests, results of CT’s etc...I then call back after another month and they said they have two profiles for me but they don’t have a referral from my PCP. So I need her to send another one. SOOO...We start over and I’m desperate to be seen!!! Is it the schedulers or this place???? Maybe I’m better off trying another office. This one seems to have no concern for your health or new patients."
"The GI department is a bit inconsiderate of patients traveling from out of town. My appointment time was at 3:00pm however I didn’t get brought to the back for patient care until 3:47pm. The CNA brought me to a smelly room. I had to ask to change rooms due to the horrible foul smell. Inconsiderate once again. Once I switched rooms I had to wait an additional 20 minutes to be seen by the doctor. I like my Doctor, However this particular visit was awful . No one apologized for the wait , no one cared. I felt like just another sick patient. After my appointment I was sent across the hall for lab work. The elderly African American lady with very short hair was rude at the front desk as well as the heavy set carcasian phlebotomist who took my blood work. There are to many miserable people working in healthcare. I work in healthcare as well and I have never treated patients the way I was treated today. UNC NEEDS TO be more considerate."
