Reviews
"Shocked to see some of these terrible reviews. My daughter is on her second stay and I can very confidently say that they saved her life . The staff is compassionate and caring . The facility is beautiful and strives to feel "homey" vs " hospital". No-one wants to need a place like this but when it is needed, this is the staff / facility to seek out"
"okay, ignoring all of the problems with the bad staff, which is horrible in itself. this place was extremely hot to the point where me and my roommate requested ice packs before we slept. if you want us to gain weight why is the building at such a high temperature, don’t you people know that heat makes your metabolism faster?? also the showers were scolding hot and when you tried to turn it colder it would just get hotter!! completely ridiculous that i had to live under these conditions while struggling and suffering living through the worst moments of my life. by the way if you’re going to have an eating disorder facility THE FOOD NEEDS TO BE GOOD. these conditions were absolutely unacceptable. the only thing good here is a small amount of staff and the other patients you make friends with. other than that just non-empathetic staff (even the nurses and therapists not just the TAs) , horrible living conditions, and horrible food. the reviews on this place speak for themselves."
"I went here twice and it saved my life. Keep in mind these reviews are written by people who went here against their will. You get what you give at veritas. If you put in the effort you will have long lasting recovery. Some of the ta's weren't my favorite but a majority of the staff were amazing. I have celiac disease and eat gluten free and my dietician was amazing with providing gluten free options but culinary..they poisoned me a couple of times. Shoutout to Becca, Sarah, Adriana, Hajar, Kathleen, Ty, Laura, Haleh, Iman, Dave, Margo, Nikayla, Fayth, Misty, America, and more for making this place better. Veritas has a very firm approach and they will call out your eating disorder and by them setting those boundaries, my eating disorder did not win. I do recommend veritas if you need ip/res level of care"
"as far as treatment goes i personally wouldn't recommend veritas, it doesn't really help that much with recovery. it more so forces you to recover. i'm glad i left because it wasn't a safe environment. however, i will not lie and say my experience was the worst because i met quite a few patients who had it way worse than me. they didn't get good treatment teams. they would bribe them to complete. they wouldn't let them eat food they liked. for me, i made some really deep friendships there and my treatment team (hajar, kelli, jay) were phenomenal (i got lucky) and they truly did the best they could in the short time we got together. there's some really good ta's i liked (iman, kathleen, emma, reed, lakia, chris, jasmine, nikayla) they made the experience there much more tolerable. all in all there's definitely worse places to be but it's hole in your wallet, there's so many better facilities out there and my experience was quite lucky."
"this is not me saying that ed treatment in general is bad. there are so so so many helpful and life saving places out there. veritas is not one of them!! please send your child somewhere else and save them the trama! the people taking care of us were college students with no experience at all. they did not care about our well being or our recovery. they constantly said the most triggering things and literally bullied some patients. i named my eating disorder after a worker there named C BEAMAN. sorry to call her out but she was incredibly narcissistic and had no compassion. veritas left me with serious trust issues after being lied to by my team. although this place was awful, the other patients were supportive and i am glad i met them. there were a few good workers there too. kathleen, iman, ty, nurse ross, nurse anita, and nurse kelly. and this guy, christopher thomas gerstle, had a weird obsession w cars and caterpillars ? idk what that was abt BUT TO MY THERAPIST JOYCE, ily and u were my fav person there"
