"I've had the worst experience with every single practice I've been to in this facility. I have never felt more like a burden or uncared for like I do by the providers at this practice. I was initially seen at rheumatology, and to be honest, the workup was less than ideal, and the paperwork stated they did examinations that they definitely did not. The providers were dismissive and unresponsive. I had to ask a different provider to get my rheumatology provider to simply reply to a message sent MONTHS ago. I had questions regarding a prescription SHE prescribed and it's been over a month since I sent that message without a reply. I called nephrology to let them know I was urinating blood. They didn't bother to call me back or reply to my mychart message. (I'm an established patient) Today, I had a Pulmonary appointment because I've had multiple episodes of cyanotic spells and had my trachea repaired. This was an appointment THEY offered last minute at around 8:00pm the night before. I had difficulty navigating the office and finding out where to go. I drove over an hour to get here and because of my 13 minute delay they told me I had to leave, which is interesting because my appointment was an hour long. Mind you, this was after *they* canceled two appointments for pulmonary services months before this. I don't remember the last time I had to literally pull over in a parking lot to sob. My health is deteriorating quickly and my experience with UNC as a rare disease patient has left me feeling hopeless and discouraged. My only option was to reschedule out into April and hope I don't die in the meantime. I could never imagine treating a patient like that and making them feel so uncared for."
