Community Culinary School Of Charlotte
About the Business
Community Culinary School of Charlotte, located at 9315 Monroe Road in Charlotte, North Carolina, is a unique institution that provides workforce development training and job placement assistance for adults facing barriers to long-term successful employment. The school's vision is to transform the lives of its students and their families while positively impacting the community.
CCSC's Workforce Training program offers a creative solution to the issues of unemployment, hunger, and homelessness by addressing the root cause of poverty - unemployment. The school teaches students essential culinary skills, preparing them for careers in the food service industry. Students with barriers such as lack of skills, incarceration, addiction, homelessness, and Veterans' re-integration issues are given the opportunity to move from dependency to self-sufficiency through stable employment.
Visitors can enjoy lunch in CCSC's classroom with a view of the kitchen in action. The staff will speak about the school's mission while the food is being prepared. Additionally, CCSC offers catering services with boxed lunch options for parties and meetings.
At CCSC, the focus is on the potential of the students rather than their pasts. The school holds students accountable for their success and works with employers to ensure fair, living-wage employment opportunities for graduates. CCSC believes in second chances and provides individuals with arrest records and addiction issues the opportunity to start anew.
The 14-week core program at CCSC teaches culinary arts, job-readiness skills, life skills, and goal-setting to help students achieve self-sufficiency and economic mobility. The school is grateful for the support it receives from the community in its mission to provide second chances and transform lives for the better.

"If you want to eat food that touches your heart and soul, this is the place to go. I visited this place on 12/19/23 and I cannot wait to go back. The food is a journey of flavors that leaves you wanting more, it is simply put, a magical culinary experience! The place is super clean, nowhere will you find the type and quality of food, for their price. The school is a non-profit organization, and I can tell you that there is a lot of joy and pride in what they do. A super friendly staff, a bakery that is just too cute to eat, the meals that we ordered simply put, made our jaw drop with all the flavors, and the portions are big. If I were going to put my money in any organization, this will be it for me!! I highly recommend that you support the Culinary school, either by dining in, catering with them, with office supplies for the students, volunteer, etc. ❤️ I love this place!!! Check out their website and schedule."
"They always have delicious selections. I wish they were more diabetic friendly and I wish they had longer hours. I love supporting this non-profit and their mission."
"Great meal cooked by students. Reasonably priced. Dessert case on the way out. Meals to go - order early (11:00 am) They sell out quickly. New menu daily."
"I visited this place days ago with the idea to surprise my relative and use this organization (that she so much likes) as part of our catering for her event. The result was an unfortunate and unpleasant experience with Chef Ronald, when trying to get some basic information regarding options and pricing. He was rude, condescending, and unprofessional. He wasted my time with emails and had let down the entire appreciation that I had for this place. In my opinion, he should just concentrate in cooking and leave the customer service matters to the administrative personnel since courtesy is a must in customer service and he's not prepared for that. In short, support the CCSC but avoid talking with this chef unless you want to be treated like an annoyance."
"Today was my first time eating here . I had the grouper Po boy sandwich. Delicious! Portion size was great, the fish was very fresh, seasoned well and simply delicious. The best $8.50 I’ve spent on food in a long time! I will certainly be a regular, possibly daily customer. The staff are wonderful as well! Check it out and you’ll be hooked!"
