"They take students out of classes that they deserve to be in just because they want everyone in their grade level. Vance does not let students succeed above their grade so they put students in unnecessary classes. If you want to succeed as a student and be outstanding I recommend to go to another school. I have been in Vance for 2 years and I am speaking from experience."
"This is my 9th grade year right now and I have some of the most caring teachers it sucks how this school has a bad reputation from past years but I feel that might change this year"
"Class of 2016 !!!!!! All my teacher are nice ☺☺☺ Mr.Mazzola .Ms.Butler Mr. Barringer and Mr.Harper they were very nice teachers it was my best year . Thank you for everything and thanks for never giving up on us ."
"This school has a bad reputation, which sucks because it's actually a nice campus with a really nice staff. I think the teachers here really care about the students, however the principal and vice principal need to be more active in the school and community.. The guidance counselors need to take time with the kids who seek their 'guidance' and offer personalized advice predicated on the individual child, not just some basic 'cookie-cutter' formula that they have passed down to child after child. Teachers need to make a better effort of controlling their classrooms even if that means having security remove any/all students who cause distractions or interrupt the curriculum simply because that child isn't serious about their educations. I have heard stories from my daughter, who is a rising junior, about teachers refusing to continue to teach because a student/group of students won't stop talking.. In this case that student/group of students should be removed.. Don't punish the masses for the transgressions of a few. The administration here needs to make a better effort of getting/keeping parents involved and in the know.. A parent newsletter, or an up to date website with an event calendar would be helpful.. A small step in the right direction would be updating the schools website. Having students in a web design/digital design class maintain the website would suffice. As a parent to one child who has attended Vance for 2 years, and another child who will start at Vance August of 2016, I have high hopes and expectations for this school. Hopefully they will step it up this year."
"Terrible school. I'm trying to leave this school. Parents trying to switch there kid here do not recommend. Administration is bad and no school spirit."
