"DANGEROUS PLACE! It saddens me to write this review because I like to see everyone win. I would've loved to support black business, a fellow business owner and fellow Christian, but my experience was so TERRIBLE, I think I should warn you. The children’s bathrooms were filthy; pee on the seats, the toilet bowls looked like they hadn’t been scrubbed the entire week (poop stains, and other stains), there was tissue hanging on the seats and in the toilet bowl, I ran with my 3 yr old from one bathroom with about 3 or 4 separate bowls to another bathroom with just as many toilet bowls just to find a clean one and both were disgusting. Many were unflushed and not only could I not believe my eyes, but there wasn’t any toilet roll in the bathrooms. There also wasn’t any soap at any of the sinks. I provided feedback to the owner and he said they keep the soap away from the sinks, out of reach and said he would ensure the bathrooms were in better condition at all times. The male teacher was playing “rough” with some of the boys and thought it was okay to hold my son’s neck during play in a “strangling” manner. I think as a grown man, you ought to be careful and know better than to play with children in this manner. I felt the need to caution my son to say “stop” or play elsewhere if he did it again. I also felt the need to warn my son to never enter a room alone with him. I gave the benefit of doubt that he was just playing rough, because I understand boys will be boys and did not report this. I was charged $53 for late pick up fees that were not justified nor valid. I was late once due to an emergency at work. I picked my child approximately 6/7 minutes after 6pm and was billed for $45. All of a sudden I was told that any pick up after 5:30pm would result in an $8.00 charge even though they close at 6pm and their late policy only lists fees after 6pm. I argued with the owner over this and he gave his unreasonable excuses. He said he would allow the director Ms. Marcia (who was always polite, respectful and professional) to decide whether to waive the fees or not/bill the fees to my account to give me time to pay it. We didn't conclude this matter, and yet when I dropped my child off yesterday (5 days since the onset of our discussions) I was told he couldn't enter by 1 teacher who went off to call Dr. McNeil. Another teacher let him in and I said to the staff I have to rush to work please have the owner Dr. McNeil call/email me. After I left I received a call stating that if I didn't return immediately to pick my child, they would call the POLICE on me. I have never heard of anything so OBNOXIOUS in my life! I didn't receive a final bill reminder, no advance notice to pay the bill before arriving, but when I show up, not only is this matter not dealt with professionally and with discretion between myself and the accounting dept/mngmt, but the teachers were involved in this, and something that could have been resolved so amicably was escalated so quickly. It made me really ponder why an amazing parent like myself would be treated so poorly and I can’t help but realize that parents w/subsidized childcare are discriminated against here. Some tend to assume the worst of us, stereotype and assume we are irresponsible, or perhaps trying to tk advantage, or other implicit biases were involved here. I am not only disappointed and DISGUSTED but I think it’s a SHAME for any child care business to operate this way. I am withdrawing my student immediately, because this height of gross disrespect is unacceptable. Also, anyone that can threaten your security, your livelihood, your family life and even consider to displace your family over $53 ($8/day for pick up betwn 5:30p-6:00pm), is GHETTO, DISGUSTING, ARROGANT, HAUGHTY & DANGEROUS. My family has always had great relationships with our daycare providers but this was TERRIBLE! I hope they choose to make positive changes after this review, so good luck if u choose to enroll your child or you can RUN! Ppl hv been recruited since my post to offset my poor rating-manipulation open your eyes."

"Oh-M-G absolutely love this childcare center ! My kids love it and they always show that they care for the children in there care. Even when covid had us on lock down but they did allow some businesses to open up back up after a while , majority of daycare's stayed closed but not genesis learning academy !! of course they did follow protocol and they NEVER had to shut down due to them opening during a hard time during covid. The owner is very generous and is a wise man of god . LOVE IT HERE as long as my kids and i stay in Fayetteville and under the age 13 they will be at GLA! no doubt about it."

"The best of the best! My kids been at gla since 2018 and they are just such a blessing in my kids life. My kids love it so much i cant see myself ever removing them. They even teach the catechism to the children every morning starting at the age of 1 and i just think that is so amazing. If you have to choose a childcare center and development center , I would most defintley choose GLA!"

"The best childcare center ! If I ever have to move I will be so hurt because it is so hard to find a great daycare! My son learns so much just by being 2. He knows his numbers , colors and etc thanks to them . I am so appreciative for the staff at gla and for making my family feel like there’s!"

"My daughter ABSOLUTELY loves the center, her friends, and her teachers. The facility is always clean and readily available for the children to come, learn and have fun. The staff and owner has always been reliable and honest. The Integrity of the center definitely shines through the communication and accountability the Mr. McNeil and Ms. Taylor display. I would not want my daughter to be in the hands of anyone else, especially with how everything is now. If you are looking for a safe, clean, fun, and learning based center for your child to grow and develop Genesis Learning Academy is the place to go!!!"
