"The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because of the facility. The doctors, nurses, RT’s and staff in the behavioral mental health unit are amazing (Drs. Meagan & Brittany). For the first time I felt listened to and was able to get the help I needed for my mood disorder along with an accurate diagnosis. This place gives you the tools to feel like yourself again.. however, if you could take the entire staff and combine it with a nicer, updated facility - it would be perfect. It definitely is not a vacation stay and the rooms and showers are more than gross. Very outdated and gives you the feel of a jail. Having said that, I still don’t regret going & would go again if I was in crisis."

"My brother was brought there as an emergency while traveling. He received very good care from everyone. The nursing & medical care was A+ on all shifts. Everyone in the hospital was excellent in their care & compassion. I was there with him the entire time & was very impressed. He was so much healthier upon discharge. We are both grateful. We are following up in care in Jersey. Thank you so much."

"I was admitted to the UNC Health Johnston psychiatric inpatient service last year. I stayed for about a week. I was heavily sedated, not explained my situation clearly, the rules/expectations of the facility, where I even was, I was given medications, but not told what they were when I asked several times. I was told I could speak to a social worker whenever I wanted, however they kept their door closed and locked and did not answer when knocked. No one would tell me how to shower or brush my teeth, when I asked several times. In fact, staff would ignore me almost every time I attempted to make contact to ask simple questions. I also suffered a stroke under their care, despite being extremely healthy, and never having one before or after. My loved ones had monumental struggles trying to be able to contact me or get information about my situation. After being discharged, I was never reached out to by the hospital at all. I would strongly advise against taking yourself or your loved ones to this facility, they do not care about their patients at all. Go further to another one if you can."

"I’ve been there multiple times and the care has been horrible, they always do simple test and never give you a real diagnostic, they always assume is a stomach bug, one of the last times I went they told me there was something wrong with my pancreas and discharged me without even checking what was going on, with no instructions nothing. And I went back because I started to have the same symptoms and they left me in my room for 4hrs without checking on me to the point where I walked out and they didn’t even notice. This is the worst hospital I’ve ever been to. If I could give them a 0 rate wouldn’t even be enough for the amount of irresponsibility of these people. The nurses really don’t care about you or what you are feeling and the doctors if you even get to see one are very nonchalant about everything, they don’t care about your symptoms"
