"Our children have attended The Studio School of Durham since 2018 and we cannot say enough positive things about the school. Our kids love school (to the point they want to attend on weekends), love learning and are curious about the world. The small size of the school allows for unique experiences and field trip opportunities and the project based education offers hands on learning. This is a great school for families looking for something more than traditional schools offer. No memorization or focus on testing - your children will learn how to think, not what to think."
"Our son was enrolled in the 3-6 classroom in the spring of 2022. He was punched in the chest and then shoved to the ground by another learner. The incident report revealed that it was the third documented “unacceptable” incident for this learner. The parent handbook we were provided only addressed three incidents. We were privately informed that there was a plan in place for a fourth event but no public announcements regarding an updated handbook were made and the learner that attacked our son was allowed to return to the classroom. I cannot speak to any subsequent updates but at the time we decided to leave, this school was still unaccredited and had no board to help guide, regulate, or enforce policies."
