"Highly recommend using Appalachian New River Veterinary Associates. From our first phone call to set up appointments for our 4 cats and our dog they were helpful, friendly, and flexible making us appointments around our schedule. They have a very efficient system to wait in your vehicle until your appointment or in the lobby of the office which is clean and has separate areas for dogs and cats. All the staff were very professional and loving to all our animals who all have very different personalities and levels of shyness. We were allowed to be with our pets the whole time for vet visits which was very important to us. Their staff from managers, front desk personnel, vet technicians and doctors were all wonderful and knowledgeable. They offered help with all our questions and were very understanding of what we wanted for our pets. They are also extremely well priced. Compared to experiences we have had in other states and even the triangle area of NC they are about 1/3 cheaper when we used their savings payment plan. If you want a vet that treats your pet like family and works around your schedule we highly recommend them."

"This was our first visit since moving to the area. The facility was very nice and clean. We were shown to a treatment room immediately upon entering and was given an initial interview. The Vet Tech was very professional and kind as well as through in her questioning as well as answering my questions. The Vet who examined Dixie was also extremely nice and offered professional opinions concerning her care. I was extremely pleased with the clinic and the folks there and feel we've chosen a great new place for her continuing care."

"We have 2 large breed dogs under age 2 and transferred to New River when our local vet was unable or unwilling to actively troubleshoot a chronic issue with one of our dogs and wanted to neuter the other early for what appeared to us to be for their own convenience. We are so happy we moved to New River! Dr Hayes is amazing and the front desk and techs are all so good with our dogs, one of which has anxiety issues. They follow up by phone the next day for every illness visit, of which we have had many, and go out of the way to fit us in when we have urgent issues. They even called us 2 days in a row when we were out of state to check on one of our dogs after a phone consult where they advised us to visit an urgent care vet in the other state. Who does that?!?! New River, that’s who!"
