"I purchased CornerStones extended car warranty when I bought my vehicle in 2020. At that time, I was given a pamphlet and contract that said the coverage i purchased would include engine, transmission, seals, gaskets repair/replacement and a rental car in the event of a breakdown. In the 3+ yrs I have owned the car; I have kept meticulous maintenance records and have never experienced an issue with the vehicle. Last Sunday, I went to start my car and a horrible banging noise happened. I immediately shut it off. I had the car towed to a Subaru dealership in Haverhill, Mass. Last Tuesday, Jan 16th, Subaru of Haverhill pulled the engine apart and diagnosed that the engine had in fact seized and would need to be replaced. They were able to identify the issue, and confirm that it had nothing to do with deferred maintenance etc. it was a faulty part that caused havoc and broke the engine. Subaru in Haverhill contacted my warranty company CornerStone United. CornerStone saw the pictures the Subaru dealership took and confirmed the seized engine. They said they would pay $3,500 of the $5,000 that it would cost to replace the engine. I referred to the brochure and contract I signed when I purchased the warranty. There was nothing that said it would only cover up to $3,500. I looked at their website, it even implies there, that my purchased X1 policy is full coverage, minus a $100 deductible (which is exactly what my contract says) I contacted CornerStone to inquire why they were not agreeing to cover the cost of the replacement engine, and why they only agreed to pay $3500. They said that the contract they had on file for me, listed coverage only up to $3,500. I explained that that was not what my contract said and I asked them to send me a copy of the contract they had on file. They sent me a 9-page contract with no signatures. A contract that did not match mine and I have NEVER seen. On page 2 of that contract, it says up to $3500. I explained to the representative that this was not the same contract I signed. It didn't have correct info or my signatures. It was a generic contract that had wrong info on it ( it didnt match the one I have) I told Ronnie, the supervisor at Cornerstone, that I would investigate it and call them back. I reached out to Prime Subaru who I purchased the car and warranty from, only to find out they are no longer Prime. Prime was purchased by Ira Subaru of Manchester. I called the GM of Ira Subaru, Steve DaSilva. He was able to locate my purchase folder from 5/11/2020. That folder contained the same thirty documents ( purchase and financing docs etc) The signed contract that the dealership, my bank and I had, DID NOT match the generic, unsigned contract CornerStone was producing and was saying was mine. Not only did CornerStones contract not have my signatures, it had wrong info about my purchase and their contract had a $3500 limit. This suggests they falsified and fraudulently produced a new contract with different terms. So, as it looks now, they generated a 9-page, false contract, and told me it was mine. In these added eight pages were stipulations, limitations and exclusions that were not part of the warranty contract that I purchased. When I asked them about this - They said that the computer automatically goes into old PDFs and updates contracts when auto dealerships sell. This is an impossible feature, and again speaks to the lack of integrity and honesty of CornerStone United. I submitted official complaints with the FTC, NH Dept of Insurance, The BBB and North Carolinas DOJ. CornerStone is hoping I give up and give in...and Im sure thats what most people do when they are up against a multi million dollar company. I wont. What they are doing is fraudulent and unethical. I paid them they should be able to produce at minimum my contract that has my signatures. I wont accept them producing a generic, unsigned contract, saying its mine."
"Absolutely terrible. I purchased the extended warranty for my 5th wheel and paid over $7500 cash. After taking my rv in for warranty work cornerstone had denied everything that was supposed to be fixed. They will not fix anything electrical or replace the control panel inside that I was told was covered under their extended warranty. Why did I pay over $7500 for a warranty that covers absolutely nothing? We feel like we were totally scammed out of our money. I plan on going to the local news and all over social media about this."
"I have to say that I typically don't purchase extended (aftermarket) warranties, as they've been completely worthless in the past. Be it denied clamis for ridiculous reasons or just too many excluded items. I'm pleased to say that thus far, 15 months after purchase, I'm glad I changed my mind for this warranty. I had several issues that needed to be addressed on my 5th wheel, so I called my (mobile) mechanic and had him head on over. After his inspection of my concerns, he found nearly $4k worth repairs needed. He contacted Cornerstone for approval and within minutes, we got a no hassle approval. All I was responsible for was my $200 deductible, his service charge ($85) and tax on that total(total out of pocket was $304.20). Though my warranty was a bit expensive (almost $5k for 5 year platinum coverage), it seems as if it was worth the purchase. I still have over 3 1/2 years left on the warranty and everyone who owns a 5th wheel knows that plenty can go wrong within that time."
"Terrible terrible experience. Would never ever recommend Cornerstone for Tire or Wheel Contract to anyone. A nail in my driver side rear tire-- they only authorized a tire plug. I called customer service Cassandra who transferred me to Chris, the claims adjuster. I explained my wife is 36 weeks pregnant and I can't take chances with the numerous potholes in NYC-- for the plug to not hold. I kindly requested for a new tire instead of a repair. Chris flat out said no, you can buy on your own a new tire. I have the ultimate package as well. What's the point of a tire package if you can't get a new tire. Especially with an extenuating circumstance. Cornerstone and Chris have NO heart or soul. Terrible terrible company"
"I had a problem with the hydraulic leveling jack system on my Thor ACE motorhome. I'm very happy to have CornerStone in my corner. They covered the very expensive cost of repair. My only concern was the 3rd party person they used to verify the diagnosis. Gentleman went to the repair shop and asked to put it all back together so he could verify the issue was actually broken, really!. To diagnose the issue the mechanic from Triad RV in NC had to take the system apart (solenoid on pump/motor was frozen open, which burned the motor). This request to reassemble was ridiculous and costly. CornerStone was called and they thought the request was a bit silly as well. They paid the claim very quickly. Everyone at CornerStone customer claim service was polite and helpful. I would highly recommend them as an extended warranty company. I feel its everything I want in a warranty plan (Ultimate Coverage Plan)."
