"Shouldn't be open yet. Elevator got stuck on my stay. Half outlets didn't work on floor 2. Lights didn't work maybe half of room as well. TV had issue with hdmi message constantly. Furniture in room is like sitting or laying on a rock. Bed was ok very firm. Breakfast was great. Service was great. Just think they really shouldn't of opened until the kinks were worked out. Place was falling apart and workers constantly patching issues. Parking is not good if you have a high vehicle check height of garage before you stay."
"I live in the neighborhood, so I dipped in to see how this brand new place looked and felt. (For the record, we didn't get a room, but I have never had a bad stay at an Embassy Suites. And their free breakfasts are Grade A!) The bartender and server were nice and the martini was stiff, but the wine pour was spare. The point of this review is the atmosphere, however . . . This lobby feels like an airport, only minus the charm. If you want a sample of Asheville's vibe, this is the exact opposite. It could hardly be "colder" if the lovely white granite floor was actually ice. The furniture would fit a '60s hotel behind the Iron Curtain. We didn't venture to the roof, so I'm not sure if another bar is up there or not. Odds are it's horribly appointed even if the view is nice. Egads!"
"New hotel open less than a week. Two queen suite was very nice and room was set up well. Ate at the hotel after a long day. Had burgers, steak club and shrimp gumbo. All were good. ALL the staff were friendly and helpful. Large breakfast choices and made to order omelets were great. Not from the Asheville area but the $30 parking charge seemed high for the size of the downtown."
"Too expensive for what you get. $70 pet fee + $30 self park in a small-ish city like Asheville is excessive. It's a brand new hotel so there's a few kinks which is expected but the snacks offered at "reception" was weak, same with breakfast. My TV wasn't working properly either. The lobby is very large but empty. Location is fairly close to things but theres barely anywhere to walk the dog to go to bathroom. Staff were all friendly enough but getting a knock from housekeeping at 1030am was unnecessary. Also, coming during an off-peak area i figured we wouldn't get the room on the 2nd floor whose view was of the vents on the roof next door lol Rooms were clean of course and the hotel overall was clean, shower was nice and warm. Overall not a great stay due to excessive added costs and inconsistent hospitality."
