"Was supposed to stay 2 nights. Night one upon checking in room seemed nice even though our neighbors were loud and obviously smoking a lot of pot. Left for the day when we came back there was a roach on the ceiling of our room. Immediately packed our things. Spoke with the person at the front desk and let him know we found a roach on the ceiling and weren’t spending the night he simply said oh sorry. No offer to refund us or offer to find a new hotel. Almost seemed he’s heard that complaint before. Do Not stay here!!"

"When I entered my room I noticed a bug going under the TV. When I lifted it up, 4 other bugs scattered. I left my room and went to the front desk and explained the situation. They quickly were able to assign me another room. However, when I woke up there was another bug on my night stand... I went to the front desk and talked with who I imagine is the manager of the hotel. I asked for a 15% discount because of the situation. He refused and wouldn't budge. On top of this, the walls of the hotel are thin and the customer base that visits this hotel seems to be noisy till around 11. I won't return to this hotel."

"This is a good Sleep Inn. The property is either new or updated to everything is in good working order. They also do a good job of keeping it clean. I was a little taken aback when I got to the property and was told they had cancelled my reservation because they had tried to pre-authorize my card before I got there and it didn't process. I thought this was a little odd as it was midday not late night. Instead of just reinstating my reservation, they made me make a new reservation at a higher rate than my original one. It was only about $5 - $10 but it still didn't seem particularly chill. It would have been nice to have gotten at least a courtesy call before they cancelled my original reservation so I could have just turned my card on, but c'est la vie. That being my only poor experience, it's a nice, mellow property with clean rooms and decent amenities -- all at a reasonable price. The area has restaurants and stores nearby, albeit you'll need a car since it's not the most walkable spot. If you're travelling to or through the Matthews area and you want a good spot without any surprises, this is a good hotel for you."

"We booked a king-sized bed for one night to stay near Charlotte. Check-in was painless. The people that worked were very nice. The room was clean and everything felt fresh. We had one issue with our room, where the freezer part of our mini fridge was causing the ice to melt and leak. I let the front desk know that it was not our doing, and they assured us that we would not get charged for it. We did not get any charges. The bed was nice and comfortable, and I always crank the A/C all the way down when I go to a hotel. The hotel is in a nice location near a lot of stores that are easily accessible with the highway. They had infused water at the lobby, which we got a cup of every time we passed by, and a hot breakfast was included in the price. I think that this the room was a reasonable price. For under $125, we got a king-sized bed, a hot breakfast, and a location near shops we don’t normally have access to at home (Second and Charles, Kohl’s, Burlington, etc.)."
